CaptainSim releases Boeing 777-200ER for MSFS!

Captain Sims new mission statement: A fool and his money are soon parted!

Did they release this as the 777 as that's how many seconds they spent making it?

I was going to write a rant on how CS is shooting themselves in the foot by staining their already stained brand by releasing such [word not allowed - self-censored version], but then I can picture them laughing their way to the bank to withdraw cash for wiping both these stains and the tears caused by my opinionated post...

Being a 777 word not allowed I got really excited when I came across this seemingly out of nowhere 777 release. I thought about buying it anyway as when it comes to airliners I'm not really at "study level" yet so I thought this would be fun. I might just have to pass though. 😞 For $30 I would at least like some engine sounds other than default..  but its mostly the 747 reskin/corner cutting that is irking me. I was watching a live stream and even the jetway was high and short of the main door. Exactly where the 747 contact point would be. Patiently awaiting Chock's review though to get the complete breakdown.

ASUS Prime Z490-A / i7-10700K / RTX 4080 / G.SKILL Ripjaws 32GB / Lian-Li PC-O11 Dynamic case

Chock will do a review? Is this worth it? But wait, will be fun to watch!

Flew 5 hours and got a dual engine failure, with failures turned off and plenty of gas...go figure.

IMHO, the visual model is decent, but the default 747's systems are problematic.

Is it fun? Mostly. Is it frustrating? Somewhat. Will I fly it again? Likely, here and there.

The Bredok 737 has been a top seller on SimMarket for months, and honestly anyone running a flight sim business should have taken notice.  Obviously the big boys (FSL, PMDG etc.) wouldn't want to tarnish there rep this much but lets face it CS is hated by the "hardcore" simmers anyway.

If you are a FS business owner who already has very detailed 3D models of underserved MSFS airplanes you should be re-skinning them right now.  The market has spoken and this is what people are paying for.

FSL and PDMG didn’t jump on the current “half effort money grab trend” Bredok started because they believe in quality, integrity and pride in their products. At this point freeware devs like Hype (H135 devs), WT, Project Mega Pack and FlybyWire have put more effort and quality into free addons than these payware devs like CS. I hope Microsoft/Asobo atleast acknowledges these dedicated freeware devs..afterall they are the devs who helped make this first year very bumpy ride of the MSFS release bearable.

It's the dollar store approach.

So you won't shop at a dollar store either?  It's called smart shopping and some people need a dollar store to exist. Not all incomes are on the same level. No matter what product it is.

BTW, I believe most large dollar stores make a good profit. The larger chain ones? They  also would not exist if the consumers didn't shop there. Hopefully we will see a ton of different priced addon's for MSFS. Then people will have a choice, and make up their own mind. Which btw, they do anyway and don't listen to anything we say here. As a matter of fact most of them are not even on Avsim!

The more of these we see the more some people get angry, and I for one love it. Make them mad 3rd party developers. It's fun to watch 🙂

I have flown now a flight with the CS tripple Seven and to say, the wingflex is there but it is just marginal this could be done a bit more or better.

Maybe we get some update at a later time but not shure about that..

cheers 😉

Sounds like Win/Win for FS2020 users.

They get better quality freeware, and they don't have to buy payware because freeware is quite good (thanks to good default content).  But if they still want to buy low cost , low detail payware, they can do that too (again thanks to good default content).

The higher detail (higher cost) planes will come eventually as well for people who want those.

Its win/win all the way around.

All I want to know is it Vatsim and streaming ready?

And shure you have to wait another two years, not to forget. ( for the tripple sevens )

Indeed, they're already working on the 737NG3 and knowing that it takes 2 years to work on an airplane.

I exchanged emails with the Bredok3D developer around the time the 737 came out to ask about some IP issues, and he was very open and forthright, made it clear that his work was on the up and up, and seemed very proud of the work he, an individual developer, had done.   And, given that currently Bredok3D products are in the #2 and #3 all-time sales slots for MSFS planes on SimMarket, it seems like he does, indeed, have something to be proud of.

Just because their output doesn't meet some random Avsim member's arbitrary definition of "quality" doesn't mean folks like Mr. Bredok lack integrity or don't have pride in their work.  To imply otherwise feels to me just as snobby as looking down on someone who can only afford a mobile home but who works hard on it, keeps it up, mows the lawn, landscapes, and treats it with at least as much pride as any McMansion owner treats his own prefab home.

IMO, not really. The a/p is not great - especially vnav. The CDU is very buggy. The flap settings, weight, and fuel calculations aren’t correct.

Direct doesn’t work, the list goes on...
