At the end of the day...it was my own fault. I can not blame anyone but me. Enjoy your flights man :0) Kerry W. Did PMDG create an airframe that can't be flown in Single Pilot Ops (without Code being involved)? For the Record; I have flown PMDG 737, 777, 747 for many, many hours. Did PMDG create an airframe that can't be flown in Single Pilot Ops ? Um, no, Donald Douglass did that. Mostly because he had managed to build a fantastic, heavy lifting all aluminum pressurized multi engine beast capable of flying non stop across the Atlantic ocean, and only 43 years after the Write Brothers ran down the track at Kill Devil Hill in North Carolina. Things had progressed a loooong ways in those 43 years, but it was still a very complex undertaking. They did the best they could, and I greatly admire them for it. Kerry W. Before you can activate the auto pilot gyro you need to make sure the engage lever is off, then engage the gyro, then engage the lever. It is in the introduction file, page 11. The introduction file is found in the Documentation folder, in the DC-6 folder, in your community folder. Kerry W. OK, I'll bite, at which price point was your wife going to kill you over buying an add on? Meaning only, you weren't even gonna consider it at which price? I thought it would be $70.00 like the P3D version, was hoping for $60.00, and we got $55.00 USD! Hoping this is good news for future products but who knows till the are released? Plus I also ge to wait awhile, don't care how long it is, till it makes it to the Market Place! Everyone enjoy your DC-6, looks awesome! June 19, 20214 yr Well. Navigation is an issue for me. I can't get the GNS430 to work properly and the gyropilot won't come on. https://fsprocedures.com Your home for all flight simulator related checklist.

Easiest thing to do is take half your add-ons out, see if it crashes. If it doesn't, you know the culprit is in the half you removed. Then you can divide by half again and test that group to eventually find the issue. Odd. I flew the turbo bonanza a few days ago and it was fine (can't remember whether it was before or after the recent Asobo update). In what way do you think it is "outdated"? BTW - the DC6 looks magnificent. Robert Young - retired full time developer - see my Nexus Mod Page and my GitHub Mod page

One odd problem - the yoke and flying services (ailerons and rudder) are not visibly moving, although the controls are working. The rudder pedals are visually moving in the cockpit though. Anyone else seeing this? I had the same problem at first go last night, except I had no aileron effect at all, I had to land her using rudder only. Which was fun but hoping a reboot fixed it and will work today when I get onto it properly. Simming since FS 98. June 19, 20214 yr Picked it up a few minutes ago. Won't get an actual flight in till tomorrow, but I did hop in and check out some of the ground stuff etc. Looked around the cockpit and punched the ready to go type startup state just to hear the engines. I know they said they built it from the ground up for the sim's lighting engine etc, but I can't help but feel like something seems off, like dull/flat inside the cockpit and looking out the showcase camera view over the wings some of the rivet texturing up close was a bit blury. I guess maybe it contributes a bit to the old time charm some in the end. I never really had an interest in this type of plane before. Loaded up the default DC-?? from the older versions of Flightsim years ago and just wasn't interested, but I'm looking forward to learning this. I probably bought it in large part because of who its from, but I guess maybe I wanted something a bit different from the tubeliners and little GA props for a bit. June 19, 20214 yr First flight was fine but I crashed the plane fiddling with the gyro pilot thing after take off. Second flight (same airport and stand)I took it slow while following a tutorial vid. Sudden CTD. Multiplayer was off. It's the first CTD I've had in quite a while. Somethings not quite right methinks. EDIT. It didn't like my Saitek multipanel. Edited June 19, 20214 yr by jarmstro

June 19, 20214 yr Kudos to PMDG for a *superb* piece of work. A clever marketing ploy as well, making it relatively cheap (by PMDG standards). I'm sure it will sucker in a whole new breed of simmers ... ready to be really stung with the next project, LOL! Either way, it's irresistible! My purchase and install procedure from start to finish was quick and totally painless - maybe I just got in early before the servers got (quite rightly) hammered! I had the DC-6 in P3D, so a lot of the procedures came flooding back - even in my age-befuddled brain - so I was able to complete a C&D startup and take-off without blowing anything up. Still in the air, so not entirely sure how my landing will go (!!!). Frame rates were good - even on my old/average system, so no complaints. To all "new" PMDG converts - you really need to familiarise yourselves with the way this old aircraft works. Read the docs, watch the videos and enjoy some real immersion! It will reward you well. Adam.
June 19, 20214 yr A future update for Microsoft Flight Simulator will add a "land anywhere" feature that lets you do just that. Developer Jorg Neumann said one piece of feedback the team has seen since launch is that landing at a busy airport and the complexities involved with that--like communicating with the air traffic controllers--can be stressful and difficult. With that in mind, the team is working on a new feature that lets you land literally anywhere you want. Can’t wait to land my new DC-6 on a skyscraper rooftop in Manhattan! So many possibilities…!!!
