The Flying fabio has done 4 days of 5 hour streams with MP and a mixture of aircraft..spits TBM etc flying around and with him for all that time with no CTD. Just saying......

Nothing happens as long as you are the ONLY DC6.

Laminar Research customer -- Asobo/MS customer -- not an X-Aviation customer - or am I? 😉

Yes, but as far as I understand, the problem seems to occur when someone brings in another DC-6 and gets too close.

Yes, but that was before it was released, so it's fairly unlikely another PMDG DC-6 was going to be loading into the sim at the point where nobody else had it. 🤣

He would be fine as no one else would have had the DC6. It occurs when someone else has the DC6 close to you. Now I remember having this problem with the Carenado C182 and the temp fix I used was to turn on generic models. But between the original release of that aircraft and now, that bug doesn’t seem to be an issue. No idea if Asobo did something or the aircraft devs

Sorry Bob, my apologies. I was looking at the video list # which was 16.

No problem, it was easy to find the right one.

The Flight Engineer is a South African. No doubt about that accent.

It's Henning van Rensburg.   I think he lives in  Namibia now,  as is the DC-6 used as a principal model for the R&D,  IIRC.  He was the guy behind the Aeroworx King Air 200 which was a huge success for many years with FSX

You probably have the gust lock on, it is a long red rod connected to the throttles it sits below the right hand side of the pilots seat, if it on you cannot move the controls.

That's what I had missed - after install I wanted to check all was well, so did a runway departure. Didn't appreciate that the gust lock was engaged (and flaps were fully up) when doing that. Thanks for the heads up 👍

I would say you would be fine to be honest.

Yes, maybe I would.

But I have to admit it's not just the PMDG planes that I find a little overwhelming, but also PMDG as a company and their business practices. And I'm not talking about the pricing at all. They can charge whatever they want, if people find it's a quality product and buy it, more power to them.

It's more things like going over to look at their customer forums and finding that some people mentioned this multiplayer CTD problem there and immediately got a warning because they weren't using their real-life names to "sign" their forum posts.

This may be common practice over there apparently (they mention they've had this requirement since 1997), but the 90s are over, and in today's times of internet identity scams and hacks, this just seems completely insane to me. I mean, it's all a totally open forum there, you can find all these posts just by googling the names.

I appreciate the work that goes into these PMDG planes and the fascination people have with the systems depth, but having to use my real name in a totally open internet forum, just to get customer support if I have a problem with the product I bought, is just unacceptable to me. I'm not even sure it's legal in my country, to be honest.

Well the point was.........your all asking why? and the point was it only seems to be if you MP with another DC-6, sorry i needed to expain that ^^ So as your all smart @ss just dont MP with other DC-6

I was simply pointing out "normal" MP seems not to be a problem, so I dont see what the big deal is, but then I dont MP anyway.😜

Did he have another PMDG aircraft right beside him in MP on a stream when he got a free copy of the DC-6  "I think not". That's the issue.

A MP session and a group flight would need to be part of every MSFS addon test plan if you're serious about your work and your product.

I'm really not buying the "oh, it just slipped through" story.

and you obviously have blissfull ignorance when it comes to software development.

never ever will everything have been tested.

Thanks, its not he throttle control. Its control SURFACES on the outside of the plane that are not visibly moving but they do function.
