July 18, 20214 yr Those who have already purchased the YBBN airport recently released by ORBX have not exactly been flattering in their evaluations of this package. For those of us who owned earlier releases and got a 50% discount, it was reasonable for the price (new runway, taxiways, additional apron space, etc.), without being exciting (compared with Impulse's YPAD for example), fully functional (jetways, etc.), or up to date (Qantas signage which is years out of date). However when one very reputable author placed comments on the ORBX Forum to that effect, the team members at ORBX responded defensively as if the product was fine, then locked the thread to prevent any further commentary being added. Can I suggest that you go to this more recent thread in their forum and re-post any comment you have on YBBN, or add yours if you have not yet expressed your views. Orbx will only listen if they receive a deluge of comment. Commercial censorship of very valid commentary has no place in the flightsim world. https://orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/208943-ybbn-a-mixed-bag-both-appreciation-and-genuine-disappointment/ Edited July 18, 20214 yr by ozzieblr Typo Cheers, Brian L Robinson Flight Simmer since 1983 - loving the brilliant Quality Wings 787 and all PMDG models!!

July 25, 20214 yr Administrators I seriously doubt this topic had anything to do with the older MS FLIGHT (2012) forum! That actually has no place anywhere in the world, I would say. It's a shame that we seem to loose good character traits. If we like to be praised we shouldn't hate criticism.
July 25, 20214 yr Thats really out of order that they have done that. Thankfully there is Reddit and many other forums like this where users can post comments. They have zero control over that. This has soured my view of them. I spent a lot of $ there during my FSX days, wont be doing that anymore. 8 minutes ago, 737_800 said: That actually has no place anywhere in the world, I would say. July 25, 20214 yr Seems OK for the money for me, though I did get it at a discount. Not Orbx best effort but not as bad as they are making out either. The main forums crew sort of remind me of Statler and Waldorf from the Muppets:
July 25, 20214 yr MSFS really changed the game. Now airplane developers are king, and paid scenery developers are mostly nonessential. If i am going to add 3rd party scenery i doubt i would pay for it. Even then the hit to my ssd might deter me. The default world is more than good enough for me. Don’t need weather add-ons. Don’t need traffic add-ons. Don’t need scenery add-ons. Now the money goes to planes and things like Electronic Flight Bag v2 from Aivlasoft. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 96GB DDR5 | 4K G-Sync | Win11 Pro

The MSFS team are working on traffic, and they have pretty big plans. I am fine with traffic now, and it will only get better. Don’t really need scenery add-ons either. The defaults are really good in most areas. Not saying i will never add them, as i do have FlightBeam’s KDEN (home airport) but it is a very large planet to explore. I really want to avoid similar habits from FSX, P3D and XP. More time flying. Less time downloading, updating, tweaking, etc. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 96GB DDR5 | 4K G-Sync | Win11 Pro
July 25, 20214 yr I've had a look at a few Orbx own brand airports. They get the job done but many are distinctly workmanlike compared to some of the less prominent developers out there. I guess that's why they're looking more into distribution. If another developer was coming out with the same airport I'd wait to compare them before buying. Edited July 25, 20214 yr by superspud
July 25, 20214 yr this has always been the case with them, nothing new, but lately their product quality overall has gone down, sadly i def liked their regions in fsx. there is still a market for good smaller airfiels i think., but i pass there.
July 25, 20214 yr I’ll still buy payware scenery for airports I really want or will use a lot but my days of buying airports I’ll only use occasionally but would buy anyway because i couldn’t stand the sight of P3D default airports are mostly over.
