July 21, 20214 yr I have been trying to change some LOD settings in this config file. I change the values from 2 to 4 and then save the file. But after running MSFS and going back to the file, the values have reverted back to the original values. What am I missing? And yes, the file is NOT Read Only. You need to save your changes then tick read only in the file properties. August 4, 20214 yr It seems that now, at least in my case, the modified config file doesnt reset after shutting the simulator, so there is no need to flag it to read only to save the modifications
August 4, 20214 yr From memory, if you alter the usercfg.opt manually and don't change any settings in the game, the changes will stick without making the file read only. It's only when you make in game changes that the file gets overwritten. I recall that is how the old fsx.cfg file and previous versions worked.
