August 1, 20214 yr It would be nice if they just fixed the UI so I could use the mouse again. It's a no go if ever I go near the hat switch on my joystick. It's bye bye cursor after that. It was all OK before SU5 and then the hotfix which was intended to fix the UI issues!
August 1, 20214 yr I'm currently unable to select live weather, or live players.. like they just disabled it. Can anyone else see that? I'm really hoping they're forcing everyone off live weather to push an update to the servers.. Edited August 1, 20214 yr by pilatuz
August 1, 20214 yr Well, i suspect that we're not the main target here. Think about it: * The default GPS units cant even create a flight plan without crashing. * The graphics quality of the product has been downgraded to accommodate the xbox hardware * Critical bugs (For a flight sim) are still there months and months after release (Planes decelerate after entering clouds, 35+ degrees C at altitude etc, crippled systems) I mean, how is it possible that while im typing this we have a bug that gives surface level temperatures at cruise altitude? That's critical for a flight sim. How're you supposed to cross the globe if the sim renders wrong temperatures everywhere? That's a showstopper right there ( For a flight sim) I think this is becoming a game for kids with an xbox that want to do loops with a 747, not a serious flight sim product. If we can make it work for out use case, great, but we're not the target here. Remember: We're a year into this already. Juan Ramos
August 2, 20214 yr Yeah the temp things a killer for tubeliners, I also notice you dont see any other aircraft, or very little. But on checking the vfr map there's loads, even at night, where you would see the nav lights etc of everyone else within a certain distance, nows there's nothing, but they are there, AMD Ryzen 7 5800x3d, MSI X570 Pro, 32 gb DDR4 3600 ram, Gigabyte 6800 16gb GPU, 1x 2tb Samsung NvMe , 1x 2tb Sabrent NvME, 1x Crucial 4tb Nvme M2 Drive

I noticed that if I am close enough to live traffic or a multi-player aircraft, I can see the airframe itself, but as soon as it gets small enough it disappears without a trace. Even when they are close enough to see there are no lights on them, where as before you could see nav lights, etc. Edited August 2, 20214 yr by bcuomo

Both XBOX and PC can live in harmony, they are not mutually exclusive ... it's good to embrace a larger consumer base (XBOX), but it's not good to gain one and lose another ... that defeats the entire purpose of multi-platform (and WASM). Everything I've seen so far could have been handle with additional sliders/settings and/or in code platform detection. This was avoidable and "we'll do better next time" doesn't really say much to me, nor deleting posts in the FS Dev forum (and yes I do keep screenshots) that don't violate terms of use. Part of me is not surprised. Cheers, Rob. I totally agree with everything you said. I am extremely frustrated at the decision made, whether it was MS or Asobo. They really need to step back and understand that the PC version needs a bit more attention to cater to the thousands of hardware configurations out there and to take advantage of those with more powerful hardware. They can't assume that PC's are all the same and we're on the same level as every other PC. We're not X-Box where every console has the same exact configuration and specs. August 2, 20214 yr Well they did mention "having healthy competition".. so maybe this whole blunder is inadvertently their attempt to tell lockheed and laminar that they still have a healthy shot against them? Honestly the amount of doubt that Asobo/MS has brewed over the last week has got to really make the devs working on X and P3D very hopeful for their futures..

August 2, 20214 yr It is also an issue with other lights like towers, when you see a flashing tower at a custom airport, it's generally a fake light with 5+ lights surrounding it and blown up to a large size to try to beat the distance limiter. AMD 5800x | Nvidia 3080 (12gb) | 64gb ram

Try looking at the same lights without Bloom... not so blown up then. This is just a visual trick which is overdone one way or not done at all the other way.

August 2, 20214 yr The trees in that video looked good close up, but as a forest I didn't think it was very good. Hopefully they'll fix that weird "haunted" look before they consider leaving it like that. AMD 5800x | Nvidia 3080 (12gb) | 64gb ram
