August 9, 20214 yr I am noticing this some of the time during my flights. It happens either around take off, where the plane will sometimes go into this brief stutter/pause moment for a few seconds and then resume back to normal. It seems like it's wanting to load something in or update weather? I'm not sure, but it's quite an immersion killer for me. Happens on all planes ranging from TBM, C172, FBWA320, Xcub, etc. So I don't think it's tied to the plane. I have a fairly powerful system to, so don't think it has anything to do with the random stutters/pauses. And I know it also has nothing to do with 3rd party addons or scenery, because even shortly after taking off from KFHR (Friday Harbor), a default airport, it happens. August 9, 20214 yr Author Well, I really would like to know what the cause for these random pauses/stutters so that Asobo is made aware of it and can possibly put out a fix for it. August 9, 20214 yr Maybe you have your settings so high it's taking a minute to load everything? I have a similar issue but it's usually right when the game loads and there is a brief pause after the cinematics and then it settles. Doesn't happen all the time though
August 9, 20214 yr I have such long pauses, too. They can last for up to severals seconds, while all is smooth before and afterwards. I think they are new since the latest SU/HFs. Fortunately, they are rare in my case. Not frequent enough to find a pattern, but it's my present impression the sim is loading a larger airport or city or similar. Yes, it may be settings-related. I've raised both LODs to 4 (but no other config tweaks) at present, which might or might not causing it. Will investigate further. August 9, 20214 yr It happens to me regularly after takeoff and before landing (in SU4 it was at 1000' and then 400', now it's more random). Not a new problem with SU5, though: it happened before. What is SU5 related (didn't happen before) is the long pauses of up to 10 seconds, happening randomly after takeoff while flying straight (meaning I am not looking left/right or using the drone view). I think it cannot be related to complexity, because SU5 has reduced memory usage to very low levels. A. Edited August 9, 20214 yr by ADamiani
August 9, 20214 yr Author Yes, I can also relate to what Michael and ADamiani said as well. It's more random, and what I'm experiencing is very similar to what you guys are saying. I also have my LOD set to 4.5, not sure if that could be the cause. Let me know what you guys find out, maybe we can work together and try to pinpoint the issue and then submit our findings to Asobo for a fix. August 9, 20214 yr Micro pauses, for me, have been the most annoying part of MSFS since day one. Now stutters while panning have been added. I'm sad to say that my sim experience is worse than ever. I'm seriously considering deleting it completely and claiming it as a loss. Edited August 9, 20214 yr by DJJose MSFS
August 9, 20214 yr I have normal settings means; most high, 3 or 4 settings to ultra, some middle and some off. My Lod is 3 for Terrain and 2.5 for buildings. I am using AI Traffic offline and no multiplayer and i assume that is not that hard for my Rig.. cheers 😉 08.2024 new PC is online : ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-F GAMING WIFI Mainboard, AMD Ryzen™ 9 7950X3D Prozessor, G.Skill DIMM 64 GB DDR5-6000 (2x 32 GB) Dual-Kit, MSI GeForce RTX 4090 VENTUS 3X E 24G OC Grafikkarte, 2x WD Black SN850X NVMe SSD 4 TB - Drive C+D, WD Gold Enterprise Class 12 TB for storage HDD, Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 1000W PC - Power supply, Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 EVO CPU Aircooler with 7 Heatpipes, Design Meshify 2 White TG Clear Tint Tower-Case, 3x 4K monitors 2x32 Samsung 1x27 LG 3840x2160, Windows11 Prof. 23H2 - now Windows11 Prof. 25H2 Flightsimulator Hardware: Honeycomb Throttle Bravo, Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, Logitech Flight Joke System, XBox Controller, some Thrustmaster stuff, Winwing CDU Panels.

I'm sad to say that my sim experience is worse than ever. Same here. It got a lot worse since SU5 (and the 2 hotfixes didn't fix that part). Unplayable. August 9, 20214 yr I have this too. Its not settings or plane or where you are. I can be in the middle of the desert and still get the stutter. Its for me usually a series a three short stutters before returning to normal. This happens about every 2 to 5 minutes. I tried a re install but same issue. This is on a new computer 11900k,3080, 32mg. I been pulling my hair out trying to get to the bottom of this. I believe it is driver related as if I use the studio driver the stutters seem to happen less often. This all started after the sim update V. I glad I'm not the only one with this issue as now that others have it I don't feel alone and know its not my Hardware or something im doing wrong. What is interesting is not all people get this issue while others do. Josh Edited August 9, 20214 yr by FreeBird(Josh) CPU: Intel i9-11900K @5.2 / RAM: 64GB DDR4 3200 / GPU: 4080 16GB /
August 9, 20214 yr I have this, sometimes for a few seconds, I'm always fearing that the sim is about to CTD when it does this freeze/stutter. It has to be linked to the memory usage, so hopefully this will be fixed in the next couple of updates, allowing us with larger amounts of RAM and/or VRAm, or at the very least when DX12 arrives for us PC users. It shouldn't be my PC as I have a decent PC, with multiple Nvme's and SSD's, so loading shouldn't be the problem. August 9, 20214 yr I get it also. FPS will drop to single digits for 5 seconds or so, then shoot back up to normal.
August 9, 20214 yr Mine stopped since SU5, and it's running the best it ever has.
