Same here.  Maybe the Bing servers were under a DDOS type attack.

You could be right.  It might be called the Weekend Xbox Collective!

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

One hour ago, I flew 40 minutes over Paris at 800 feet in the Airbus 135 helicopter and the photogrammetry was absolutely fine.

All working here, I just flew over Las Vegas and it looked OK. Too bad it CTD on approach at Boulder Mun (no a/p involved this time).

Connected to South East Asia servers.

Stuck on "checking updates". Only solution is close the program.

Does it matter what server you're on?

Yesterday I was on the NE USA server, everything was blurry and morphing around me. Today I was on the West Europe server and it was fine again. Same area.

Mine does too sometimes, I thought it had frozen. But you just have to wait. Likely higher server load because of weekend flyers.

Odd, hey guys, check your IP helper in Services in windows and make sure it's on. mine was off for some reason. trying the sim now and see if it's fixed.

Edit: nope , that didn't work either.

3080 here. Absolutely crisp textures on my side. On the other hand i think the OP has nothing to do with VRAM or RAM as it seems to be server related.

ThomseN would you say what you're seeing is as crisp as pre-SU5?  Buildings are sharp and clear but terrain just looks too soft/blurred, but then again I'm in a rural area which may be less than well captured in the first place.

Here's something I did not expect, though perhaps should have as I wholeheartedly believe there is realtime prioritization/optimization happening, as I say tuned to Xbox's OS/hardware.  The exact same departure airport, gate, plane, time of day, ended up loading the GPU to ~88% w/ all settings identical to what I was using w/ 2070 Super.  88% is pretty much exactly what utilization was w/ the 2070 Super as is now w/ the 3080Ti, and yet by all accounts raw thruput for the latter is going to be at least 150% of the former.  I did not expect this--instead I would have thought I'd see maybe 65% or so utilization.  Now, I can set rendering to >100, for example 120 or so, and there is virtually no change to GPU utilization, in fact it even went down a bit (!!), whereas w/ the 2070 Super it would have hit 100%.

I do hope we see use of hardware resources improve greatly because it's there, especially RAM/VRAM.  My guess is eventually Asobo will code algorithms to look at what's there and use it accordingly, presumably w/ user-controlled sliders.

ADDENDUM:  scratch that, reverse it!  After installing the new GPU and updating drivers I forgot to look at NV Control Panel settings.  Now, at KSBA maxed out ultra w/ render scaling at 120 GPU is only doing 58%, whereas previously it would have been at ~88% before increasing RS to 120.

I guess one way to test is to go into Bing maps for a specific area.
