ThomseN would you say what you're seeing is as crisp as pre-SU5?  Buildings are sharp and clear but terrain just looks too soft/blurred, but then again I'm in a rural area which may be less than well captured in the first place.

Well to my eyes it seems even better as before SU5. The only downside is that it takes a second or two to fully load/stream (whatever it is called) the terrain textures. Lets say i turn my view to the left to watch out the window the terrain is slightly blurry for maybe 2 seconds and then gets absolutely crisp.

Same here, except no pop-in delay of textures loading. Crisp and clear.

Looks very believeable now as I am coming into KTVL where AQI is wretched due to a host of bad wildfires, one that just led to a mandatory evacuation of 40K people in South Lake Tahoe.  ATIS called it 3m visibillity which is probably much more than in reality, or not haven't looked lately.  But since discovering changes that happened in NvControl Panel and fixing those it's obvious what the 3080Ti is doing now  and clarity is much improved.  Flying out of KSBA was gorgeous and the machine hardly batted an eye at it.  I've dialed back overclocking now to 4.8Ghz on all cores, still massive overkill, but this lets me put core voltage to 1.15v.

Using MSFS or Unreal weather? 3mi with mist/fog/haze etc. is more like 1mi real world. The RVR #'s are the crucial stuff.

SAR Pilot. Flight Sim'ing since the beginning.

MSFS for weather.

I've just checked again this morning, still no Bing satellite imagery, just the offline textures. I'm in the South East UK.

Lot of pauses yesterday flying in a remote region that weren't there the day before.

Simming since 1981 -  [email protected] GHz with 16 GB of RAM and a 1080 with 8 GB VRAM running a 27" @ 2560*1440 - Windows 10 - Warthog HOTAS - MFG pedals - MSFS Standard version with Steam

Definitely an issue.  Even in the Canary Islands in the C152, I had to pause the flight and I waited about a minute for some of the the textures to fill in below me. - very slow.  Not seen anything like this for a while.

As @weeksy says, looks like a server / bandwidth issue and they are on to it!

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's.  Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

A problem as well here in Sweden Aug 29. Tried various locations and terrible results. Seem to back in FSX.

Well, that is the trade off we have to get along with: streaming most data means that from time to time, things will not work as expected. Pity if this happens on a weekend, but for sure it wont be the last time that this happens...
