The one thing I miss most in P3D/FSX that's not in MSFS

@micstaticYou miss water in FSX and P3D??

Granted 'ship wakes' were so much nicer in previous versions. But I'm not understanding why you miss tsunamis and humongous waves in lakes and rivers in FSX and P3D...

Because when cruising over open ocean it looks flat and lifeless unless there is a little wind. I like to fly with real weather. Known issue

So I click on the mouse button, and move the view up and down left and right and in and out in about 1 second. What's so hard about that?

So at this point I can't tell if you're trying to help or deliberately trying to start something here. I am not talking about PANNING. PANNING and ZOOMING do not solve any of the issues I mentioned.

EDIT: OMG I found a workaround for the camera location while taking a screenshots to demonstrate my issue. Turning track IR on, tilting my head so the plane is in the middle of the frame instead of the bottom, and then turning track IR off seems to hold the new camera center point. Now I can pan all around with the plane staying in the MIDDLE of the screen. Hopefully Asobo doesn't read this and then 'fix' it in the next SU. The focal length/ultrawide issue remains, but I don't think there's anything I can do to convince that to get any better.

The default external camera appears to be fixed to an invisible object that is offset from the aircraft.  It's quite annoying that the aircraft is not the center of the camera.

For screenshots I use drone view to get a more natural centered view and also a more natural aspect ratio.  The default view I described above also gives you this silly stretched look especially noticeable if you zoom in.

Yep you better wait...

Yep, there won't be a 2022 version, just 2023 😉

I thought of another one, which is probably the most worthless item for a flight sim but for me, it was how I naturally ended almost all flights.

Once the airplane was shut down, I opened the cockpit door(s) and baggage door, as if I was actually exiting the plane.  Corny, I know.

Next version will be MSFS 2030.

One of the best & most useful pop-up gauges in FSX was Glenn Copeland's Cockpit Commander (pic below).

This little thing made entering ALT, HDG, CRS, VS, IAS & radio frequencies a breeze.

For example to set ALT to 20,000 feet you just press the [2] followed by [0] and then press the [K] button and boom 20,000 is set the ALT. No painful pressing of buttons or scrolling rotary knobs with the mouse in the VC . Same for stuff like headings, VS etc.

I wish there was such a mod for MSFS. I dont see one yet.

Ah sorry, I misunderstood. I thought you meant it's still also available in MSFS except that it shows up based on a fixed schedule of some sort.

I just thought of another one I miss tremendously from earlier FS's; the ability to undock a panel/gauge/view and move it to a second monitor. For Vatsimming, having the radio stack permanently accessible on the 2nd monitor is a must and that ability doesn't appear to exist in MSFS (yet?) .

Proper FOV support for multi monitor..

I'd love to see MSFS adopt the same multi monitor capabilities of the driving simulators to properly define monitor settings (size, bezel size, angle, distance to screen, etc) and be able to calculate a realistic FOV.

Yes we can try to manipulate zoom but especially on an ultrawide the distortion on the edges is extremely noticeable and we are doing a best effort with Zoom to re-create FOV.

Proper FOV configuration capabilities are something I'd love to see.  To be fair it wasn't in any other Flight Sim yet either but is essential moving forward in my opinion...
