If this issue hits you, be prepared for an approx. 100GB reinstall, plus an extra 50GB or so of content. https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/new-update-in-the-microsoft-store-sim-deletes-itself/467048 Edited October 29, 20214 yr by HiFlyer We are all connected..... October 29, 20214 yr if you have your files installed somewhere other than default, rename the folder so they don't get deleted. Let the sim update in the store, launch check it works, the rename the folder back and direct the sim to it on the installation screen. Edited October 29, 20214 yr by Tuskin38

October 30, 20214 yr Isn’t this only for beta testers? And there are usually instructors not to install the beta in the main flight sim folder. Edited October 30, 20214 yr by DylanM

October 30, 20214 yr This is normal for SW testing. Betas are temporary. At work, once the release version goes out any machines we had that were running beta software get immediately updated to either the current release or the next alpha. There generally isn't a proper update path from a beta release to the final version as the release version installer will be set up to up to replace the files from the last release version and not the ones from the beta release, which are "already" upgraded from the last released version. Beta releases are truly the red headed stepchildren of software. If you were in the beta, do yourself a favor and reinstall the new release version. Even if you manage to keep the beta SW installed somehow, you're likely to have problems later on. i9-10850K, ASUS TUF GAMING Z490-PLUS (WI-FI), 32GB G.SKILL DDR4-3603 / PC4-28800, GIGABYTE RTX5080 16GB WF OC 3 FAN running 3440x1440
October 30, 20214 yr Just a quick update... I am not a beta tester and running the MS Store version. I am running the FS 2020 program right now and did not experience the delete and reinstall issue.
