Well I for one have a similar roll issue with the turbo v4.   I takeoff with some difficulty due to strong crosswind engage autopilot with heading pre selected and the bonanza banks into a turn overshoots the heading bug and just keeps turning with a steep bank.  This is with the WT G1000Nxi.  These roll issues are not there when I revert to default. Grateful if someone can point me in the right direction to correct what I am doing wrong.  Thanks

As I said. I will look into a revised a/p routine, but it can't be done in one day.

I think it is possible to improve navigation response with NXi, but for those getting over/undershoots, the G1000 NXi is not a finished product, or any where near. It is in early beta, so as marvellous as it is, early beta means just that. You cannot expect software in that stage of development to be perfect, or even approaching perfect. However I will have a look at it and see if I can publish a revised autopilot routine.

If you could have a look that would be great.

I down loaded the G36 mod that is very good also and that along with the Nxi, flys the same route far far better, not perfect but close.

The turbo climbing at 125 and making turns is close to or feels close to turning over and dropping out the sky. It really does not like a SID in AP and Nav/FLC.

Saddly it will go in the hanger until hopefully you can find a fix Robert. Just load the default or the g36 mod and fly the SID and see. Hope it’s an easy fix.

For @Claudius_ and anyone else interested, I just flew the RNAV Z Rwy 19 into KJAC coupled to the NXi. Yes there were times I reverted to FLCH to capture the profile... but that's part of it.

I can tell you at the end of the SLC-JAC run... I was as fully involved in flight path control and flight management as I have ever been in anything out of Seattle or Toulouse.  The MSAs and collected icing kept me toasty despite the SAT. The LPV bit was perfect and as Rob says the NXi is still very much in beta. I was thoroughly tired, entertained, educated and flight satiated- ta Rob!

PS- the windscreen fully deiced on the parking apron- lovely 😉

so downloaded tried to load in at EGPH and the sim loaded infinitely, progress bar all way to 100%, GPU at 100% utilisation.  I gave it a good 10 mins had to end task.

Anyone else experienced issues?

No.  Loaded it twice yesterday for study and then flew twice today.

I gave V4 it a try.  Elevator trim a bit laggy as for my bravo quadrant trim wheel comparing to V35 I fly in IRL. Autopilot definitely out rig, the one we have with Dynon way more aggressive to keep flight director in check. Other than that great mod!

I tried installing this mod...and even the standalone 75th Olive Ann livery I’d successfully used before (gorgeous!), but now this silly thing refuses to show any registration on the outside of the aircraft at all (with or without the mod installed) EXCEPT for that nice red and black livery with the BB suffix and permanently baked in registration?

And when I enter a custom registration inside MSFS it STILL won’t show on the outside of the plane?

What am I doing wrong here, other customized liveries work just fine on other planes?

Thanks,

Steve

This is a known issue on the default Bonanza in Su6 that was worked around by using Su5 LOD models (thanks to Bert Pieke). I think you can get your other liveries working if you use the traditional method of adding them to the aircraft config as a new SIM then entering the desired registration. If you look at the existing SIM entries that will give you clues as to what info to enter (it has to be perfectly correct). Then you need to update the layout.json file to include a reference to your new liveries. You can do that easily by using an auto-json generator of which there are quite a few available. It sounds complicated but actually it is painless once you get use to it.

Hope this helps.

I flow the same SID in heading mode and it was fine. I wish people would not blame the Nxi, it works fine in the default G36. But untill an update Heading mode on SID is best. Or hand fly as she fly really nice.

Unfortunately, for reasons only known to Asobo and for absolutely no logical reason (whatever excuse they give), the Baron and other "premium" aircraft are encrypted and therefore not editable or tweakable without a great deal of hassle. I would love to tweak the Baron as it is one of my favourite twins but alas it is not available to tweak. Sorry.

Hey Rob, not sure if that's the case these days.  There's a few examples of modified Premium aircraft that have been modded with great success.  'Dakfly0219" has done an amazing job modifying the Longitude.  Without his work that bird would be in terrible shape in the sim. The Cessna 152 mod is great, the DA40 by 'mrtommymxr is amazing, and the 787 has received some much needed work.  Not sure how these guys are doing it but I'm sure if asked they would share their secret.

Yes it is possible, but still extremely time consuming as I would guess you have to construct a completely new flight model/engine etc from scratch using the generic templates that are available, then eyeball the model contacts and C of G, or use the SDK also from scratch. I also guess the people doing these projects are young, have lots of energy and time, or work as a team. I'm now a humble tweaker of mainly flight models!

One day I will find the time to use this method to update the Baron which is a fantastically well modelled aircraft by Asobo but in my opinion flies like a pig!

You're right David. The NXi is fine (actually incredible given it is in Beta stage). There WILL be a fix coming, hopefully later today so hang in there!

Please PM me and I will send you a file that makes the trim a bit faster. For most joysticks the trim is sedate but I think much better than the over-aggressive ones you get in some of the default aircraft.

I'll reach out to one of the modders to see if they can help.  It might not be as complicated as your thinking.

I dont want to start a new thread for my (I think) simple question.

Ik have the NXI and stock Bonanza. There is a big difference between the backup airspeed indictor and the speed on the NXI.

Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug??
