Pilot Reacts To Trevor Jacob Crash Video

Notice how when he jumps from the plane he has a fire extinguisher strapped and hidden under his pant leg? Go back and see it again.

He probably thought the plane would catch fire and needed the extinguisher to get to his GoPro cameras. If that plane did catch fire that terrain is so dry it likely would have burned a very large portion of that national park.

yep  been noted  on the  numerous  other utubes  on  this  probably  what gave  him  away and  having  the  door  ajar  before  the engine  cut  out 🙂

I think the biggest 'tell' is that the fuel selector is disconnected from the right wing tank, which would explain why the plane was in a constant right bank during its descent. This would be a result of fuel imbalance...

Yes this aircraft was configured to be scuttled

Staged, plain and simple.  The arsehat needs to reflect on what he did and the potential for injury and damage to others for a long time, preferably in a graybar hotel.

My computer: ABS Gladiator Gaming PC featuring an Intel 10700F CPU, EVGA CLC-240 AIO cooler (dead fans replaced with Noctua fans), Asus Tuf Gaming B460M Plus motherboard, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD, EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 video card, dead EVGA 750 watt power supply replaced with Antec 900 watt PSU.

Is this guy a comedian?? :huh:

He's a pretty good satirist. 😁

Finally got round to watching this and on top of what has already been said, isn’t it a bit weird he had two GoPros filming the door side and nothing on the other wing?

The whole thing is entirely suspect as everyone knows. Among the numerous red flags I and many other people have spotted and called him out on:

bad 'surprised' acting (but for anyone who does use parachutes, it's good to know that a 'chute can support the weight of something so wooden);

suspicious plane config and loadout;

no shots of the panel despite having a go pro mounted for that purpose;

no attempt whatsoever to diagnose the 'problem';

full-on sport 'chute where he can barely fit in the seat which nobody would seriously fly with on a regular basis; obvious lying about 'always wearing a 'chute' when he clearly does not on other videos and very suspect preamble about this too;

door propped open prior to the engine 'failure' in readiness for the jump;

buying a cheap plane for the purpose of doing this stunt and being on record as saying to the person he bought it off that he planned to do something  'special' with it;

not rigging the door to be jettisonable despite claiming he 'always wears a 'chute to be ready for an emergency bail out;

deliberately trying to slow the thing to stop the prop for dramatic purposes instead of sticking the nose down to get the prop windmilling for a restart attempt;

no ATC call to report an issue and no pan or mayday call in spite of him wearing a radio headset;

no attempt to glide to an airfield, which we know he was within range of;

no attempt to force land below or even an attempt to look at that option;

no clearing turn before jumping (which is not suspect, but it is very irresponsible);

no attempt at trimming for best glide;

no attempt at a restart of the engine;

carrying two (badly concealed) fire extinguishers;

no claim on insurance (since this would be exposed as a fraud);

no attempt to steer his 'chute nearer to a populated area in spite of it being a sport 'chute which is specifically designed to be steerable, nor any attempt to safely steer himself away from a pilotless aeroplane which could have turned back toward him;

somehow calmly remembering to grab a selfie stick and film himself on the way down in spite of his cack acting allegedly showing he was in a 'panic' prior to jumping;

adequate fuel level visible in the pipe gauge on the engine cowling which is slap bang in the pilot's forward field of view, which would at least encourage you to try switching tanks and having a go at restarting the engine;

hiking to the crash scene to presumably cover things up, get cameras and possibly tackle a fire in spite of this allegedly being an emergency where he needed assistance;

no hint of any engine trouble whatsoever in the run up to the alleged failure occurring;

a history of stupid stunts on other videos on his channel which point to this one being another one of that ilk.

Hopefully the F.A.A. will throw the book at him to make an example of his stupidity and the numerous crimes this stunt included; he's a disgrace to pilots everywhere. I hope they take his licence away permanently and give him a bit of jail time too, and a massive fine. With a bit of luck, his status as a past member of the Winter Olympic team representing the US (not that his performance was especially impressive) will be struck from records too, just to embarrass him further, because this is not the standard of behaviour I would hold a former Olympic competitor to.

Not everyone can emulate Eddie the Eagle Chook. 🙂

Saw on another utube  where  some  one  noticed  that he  had  swapped  his  engine  so the plot  thickens 🙂
