That's good to hear. Wasn't sure about this.

That will only be good to hear if the pricing of the variants that were included in the NGXu base package is similar or lower than it was in P3D.

I note its the 700 first when most people will want the 800... Seems like a a good way to sell at least 2 airframes!

Did I miss read but what about the standard passenger version. The initial release is a BBJ and BCF? Will this mean the passenger version will be a separate cost also?

Maybe it will never be released?

CMarkis confirmed it will be released, so I wouldn’t be concerned about it not releasing

So why not bring out the 800 first then?
Can't wait six weeks, so have to buy the 700 as well .... 🙂

This is the reasoning we’re given “The 700 is a better foundational point than the 800 when it comes to all of the system logic and options packages that cover the fleets. To go from 800 to 700 we would have to work a bunch of tasks backward, or rework them, which is worse. That being said, if something in the 700 gets hung up and the 800 is completed first, it will release first. I don't really see much chance of that, however.”

As for people commenting on pricing, I do find it funny how that can be discussed when the pricing structure hasn’t even been announced yet

Sounds like they could be waiting a long, long time. Maybe it will never be released? Personally I'm not too bothered if the SDK doesn't allow them to get the toilet paper dispenser to work. Why not just get it released and patch in the missing feature later?

LOL... I see where you are coming from, and I 100% agree.

But... MS and Asobo are doing this with the base sim right now, and 1/2 of the user base are on Prozac because of it.

I think the Avsim servers would commit Hara-Kiri if PMDG started doing that, too.

Sorry, as far as i can see this is another money grab opertunity.

He/they know full well they cannot charge the prices that they used in p3d but the obvious way round that is what they are planning. So instead of charging around 100$ for 2 variations of the hull that they know a lot of newcomers will probably shy away from, then they're going to try the tact of lets charge around 50$ for 1 hull type and get multiples of there off for each type.

So in theory they end up with even more cash for the same hull ie in p3d for example around 100$ for base package 2 hull types and the addon hulls about 40$ so 4 hulls.

Under this idea 4 hulls at  say 50$ each equals 200$, so more profit.

So for me, just be open and honest about the real reasons for changing the pricing structure

To quote  the dragons den tv program  "I'm out". In regards to pmdg in msfs.

I will stick with what i have in p3d  for serious simming, and let the xbox sim do it own thing and they can have their gravy train cash. But none of that cash will be from me other  than what i paid for when the sim was released.

Surely if this was to be PMDG's approach it gives us users more flexibly in what we buy, some people might want all the 737 versions some might just want the base or one extra version.

AMD 9800X3D,  NZXT X73 RGB AIO COOLER, Gigabyte X870 Aorus Elite WIFI7, 64GB 6000MHZ RAM, 4TB Samsung Pro NVME, 4 TB Crucial P3+ NVME, 4TB Crucial SSD, Gigabyte Gaming OC Geforce RTX5090, Antec C8 ARGB Case, X55 JOYSTICK/THROTTLES, LG 4K C4 42" TV/Monitor 120 Hz, 2 Dell 1080 monitors. Honeycomb Alpha Yoke, Bravo Throttle. Thrustmaster TPR Pedals. Moza AB6 FFB Joystick, Pimax Crystal Light VR, Tobii Eye tracker, Steelseries Arctis 7+ Wireless Headphones.

Now I'm really curious what that big "blocker" is, but he doesn't want to tell us. It must be something elementary, because if it was only weather radar (which will not be there for release anyway) that wouldn't prevent testing. Since it's seemingly something that no other dev was trying to do until now, I can only think of VNAV, because that's the one big difference between the CRJ and the 737.
Anyway it gives a weird picture of everyone involved saying that they have basically been sitting there and waiting for months for a (real) answer from Asobo... it's clear that Asobo have bit off more than they can chew (or were forced to do by Microsoft), he repeated that a couple of times, although in euphemistic terms.
Again, it's an akward situation and one that won't stop after release of the 737. The SDK seems so backwards in certain areas that it might take years to get that up to a level where devs can continously produced quality aircraft in a planned, consistent manner - and that is only if Microsoft/Asobo considers it to be a worthwhile task.
I am afraid the commercial success of MSFS is the biggest roadblock for the development of a study level sim, even if that might sound like a paradoxon. It's just a really weird situation overall.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Interesting new sales model…I guess the benefit is I’ll end up getting the BCF and BBJ variants which I probably wouldn’t buy individually but will be nice to have.

I don't have a problem with this pricing plan. I've never flown the 600 or 700 versions, so I can do without those or the BBJ variant. That leaves me interested in the 800 and cargo variants. I already own the NGXu, so I should get at least most of one of those 2 variants for "free" which in my case would be the 800. If the cargo version isn't too expensive, I may add that one for giggles.

You’re missing out on the 700 as it flies like a sports car in the sky! It looks the best of the range too as it doesn’t have the stretched look. And the BBJ likewise. The sleek look, the high class interior and able to basically to long haul flights.
The 700/BBJ make the 800 feel like a bus.

Whatever it is, if they don't release it before X-Plane 12 comes out I won't be bothering with it.

the big question to me is the price of each and what the ngxu buyers will get credit wise.
