Aerosoft Considering Future Airbuses for MSFS

I was surprised by this move. Personally, I found his take on the market to be a little weird and how he thinks study level airplanes won't sell that well. Also, we really don't need another A320. I would like to see them add more features to the CRJ and Twotter before they even consider anything else.

How can they make an airbus when the Twotter was sooooo advanced they couldn't animate trims.....#ConfusedLoL

On a related note to airbuses, I wonder what FSLabs will do in MSFS, now that the Fenix A320 is in beta testing and is probably within months of coming out. I am guessing Fenix will work on the A319 or A321 next, as they can use their base code from the A320 for the A319 and A321.

And just like that, Fenix has cornered FSLabs on the A320, A319, and A321 market in MSFS. FSLabs is now stuck between a rock and a hard place for MSFS.

Yeah, it's gonna be a disaster. And I mentioned, the A320 will be overly saturated with what looks like will be a very detailed FENIX version and the ever improving free FBW version. I think they're just planning on releasing a "CRJ" version of the A320?? Also, the guy over at Aerosoft often comes across as arrogant. His responses to his customers after the Twotter sounds debacle made me no purchase it, just because he came across as a jerk.

Time for AS to think outside the box. This obsession with Airbus is super saturated across the market.  So since he crossed out the A350 and the A380 and the 5 hair dryer aircraft is not mentioned, there is clearly alot of other options.   A220 for one that would need a good complex development. Not sure how the whiskey jet one will turn out and to what extent is the fidelity of the aircraft.

The Embraer series could be a good option (70s and 90s) or even the E2 if the data is there. I doubt they would bother with Boeing since other major devs are doing that, and they probably dont have anywhere near the same relationship with Boeing as they have with Airbus.

I think one of the comments on the article says it best... "Aerosoft, slipping in to irrelevance". Which is true mainly for the type of simmers who care enough to register on forums such as their own or here on Avsim to provide feedback etc. They seem to have decided that the way to move forward with MSFS is to provide mostly half baked products for the masses.

Actually from a business standpoint there is still a market for another A320 despite FBW and Fenix, because neither of the two will be available in the MSFS marketplace, which according to Aerosoft is a huge market for them. So by developing another A320 they could be the only one offering a somewhat improved Airbus for XBox users.

Aircraft are a small percentage of their business. Their big money is in trains and farming sims.

Mathijs is a person who is a bit of an acquired taste, yes he can be abrupt and to the point. While he can appear heartless and harsh on others where he doesn't quite understand their point of view, he certainly sometimes jumps in with both feet. He's a very busy man with a lot of pressure on his shoulders, but there has been plenty of times where he has been very kind, helpful and thoughtful to people needs. He's German thus hardworking and very efficient with his time which might be part of the reason why he's sometimes direct, some people dislike him, I like him and respect him for what he and his team has done for our community over the years.

Nope, Aerosoft is based in Germany, but Mathijs is Dutch actually. 😉

Hilarious to read this guy writing about simulation of the pilots job. Has always been an excuse for shortcomings.

I remember their buses a few years ago - A320 had so many fixes to hot fixes which suppose to repair latest update, then they almost run out of alphabet letters, yet ATHR was still broken... 😁

I really don't get his point on this :

The obvious choice. Now to be clear we do not consider Fenix etc to be an important factor. Not only because they obviously aim for a different kind of product (they want to simulate the aircraft, we want to simulate the job of being a pilot)

Like what? Simulate being stuck in holdings for hours, drunk passengers, being unable to launch a flight if you fail an exam, obligation to send blood and urine sample to a German testing facility before you can install?
