Sim Update IX

Do you have the Milviz Porter?

Yes I have. Do you think it's related to that aircraft?

Edit: I see what you mean. I was loading the Milviz Porter and it loaded fine but the sim crashed when going back to the menu.
If I load another aircraft, like the Asobo 103 Solo, it loads fine and no CTD when going back to the menu. However, if I then load the Milviz Porter for another flight, the sim CTD when loading that flight.

I tried searching, but got no results.

The Cessna 172 with the glass panel has been updated with a lot of changes to make it more like real life, but nothing was said about those same flight changes to the 172 with steam gauges. Anyone know if that model got those same updates?

Thanks

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hoped they got that one fixed

This issue isn't on their todo list AFAIK but I was hoping an improvement on this as well.

Along with the reduced performance complaints by PC users, looks like XBox users are reporting fundamental issues over at https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/discussion-poll-sim-update-9-1-25-7-0/513042/264

I get that it's a very complex software system with cloud-based services handling various PC hardware configurations and Xbox clients, but this pattern of general quality control issues at Asobo of introducing new bugs and regressions while also fixing other bugs and providing enhancements is not comforting after this many sim updates.  SU9 was supposed to be focusing on bug fixes and stabilization and this is sounding like for at least a non-trivial amount of users it's not... which I suppose is the other confusing thing, where for some users the experience is regression-free and all is good, and for others it's not. But then again perhaps that's to be expected where a certain set of hardware+driver configs and sim add-ons/settings could be causing the issues that some are not seeing.

For the PC side, for those with performance regressions and especially the GPU under-utlilization, are you seeing them in both DX11 and DX12 modes?

I think I fixed my CTD's by upgrading to latest nvidia drivers, but the sim is a stuttery mess.

Did you rename your community folder and see if any differences?

So far so good in the FBW A32NX, latest experimental build. Flight from LKPR to EDDH, both payware addons.

No problems so far with either the A32NX or any of my regular addons: FS2Crew, REX AccuSeason, Toolbar pushback, NoToolbarHandle, Global AI ship traffic V2.

BUT - the ATC voices disappeared soon after departure. Can only hear the pilot voice.

I think the smaller single runway, single terminal airports are the sweet spot for the Airbus in terms of overall enjoyment and performance. Although going into the larger hubs is no longer a no-go which is nice now with generally faster hardware in play these days.

Yes, didn’t make a difference. Was the driver for some reason.

So we are up to SU9 and live weather still doesn't work as it should. I'm still hearing the wrong wind and opposite runway assignment in the ATIS. This means that if I'm shooting the correct approach to land on the correct runway (based on real weather winds,) I can't contact ATC for clearance to land or I have to deal with aircraft landing on the wrong runway.

I thought that these were real Pilots testing & designing this sim? It's pathetic that they still have not got this right after a year and a half. I've been patiently waiting and I'm starting to lose faith again. Even FSX used to get it right with Active Sky.

I'm still a huge fan of MSFS and it's my only sim. I just wish that the live weather feature and ATC interaction was improved by now.

Sorry for the rant.

Sounds like a processor upgrade or run at 2K if it isn't a setup issue.

Where did you get this info from, Asobo is from a gaming background. Don't think there is any RWP on the team.

Were you on the SU9 beta? I have been and I only had a small update on loading once I unenrolled from the beta. No updates in content manager.

Maybe we don't need them if we had the beta as nothing has changed for us?

same here I unenrolled, expecting some gigabytes of updating but

I think 312 MB thats it nothing in content manager to update

They’ve got real world pilots helping them with aerodynamics etc you can search for their official videos.

Not mentioned in the patch notes, but 2 other airports have gotten the Handcraft treatment.

Naval Air Station Fallon - KNFL

Cape Canaveral Space Force Station - KXMR

I wonder if adding Fallon was a mistake. NAS Fallon is where Top Gun has been held since it moved from Miramar in 1996. So it feels like something that would have come with the free Top Gun DLC in May.
