If you reinstall the DC6, and you have  MS Store version of MSFS, there are some files and folders you have to delete when uninstalling.

I downloaded from the PMDG website. Busy doing some troubleshooting from this link on the PMDG forum before I re-install. (MSFS) All Engines Fail During Takeoff - PMDG Simulations

Do you have any idea of which other folders need to be deleted, thanks?

I found it... This is from their Tech support and only applies to MSFS store version.

1. Uninstall the DC6 from add/remove programs.

2. Go to C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community\ and make sure there is no pmdg-aircraft-dc6  folder if there is delete it

3.Go to C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\SimObjects and delete the PMDG DC-6A and PMDG DC-6B folders if they exist

4. Go to C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\ and make sure there is no pmdg-aircraft-dc6  folder if there is delete it.

5.Go to C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\packages and delete the PMDG-aircraft-dc6 directory

6. Install again making sure you run the installer as administrator. Right click and select run as administrator. And check if issue is still present.

If you fill out a ticket with PMDG, they will email you the list of files. I had it and misplaced it.

Thanks, will do.

For those with performance issues on large hubs: This was notified by several beta testers (I made an own thread on it) but obviously not considered. In my case, it was a significant performance loss (25 to 15 fps on ground) on KSFO which obvisouly was not amended.

Other testers reported it as well, seems to be the main thread being hammered on ground.

Kind regards, Michael

Thanks for this Michael. At least others share my pain. It's frustrating because based on performance of high-fidelity third party add-ons such as Flytampa CYYZ, we know excellent ground performance is possible.

You are one of the lucky onces...My frames have dropped quite significantly with this update...,my specs are on my sig

Just did a flight in the default 172 from Granada. Was planning for Gibraltar but goodness that is a slow airplane... Not used to GA. Diverted to Malaga.

First impressions: FPS no different. Could not see any difference with clouds. ATC voices have improved IMO.

Is turbulence more pronounced? Haven't flown GA in a while...

Indeed it is.

I didn't try the released SU yet, but in the beta the effect mostly was on ground only, fps went to normal quickly as soon as the tires left ground. Besides, it wasn't at all airports, mostly where big hubs met with Photogrammetry cities around (at least that was the general impression in those threads).

Strangely enough my thread (and others) was marked as "bug-logged" but obviously "logged" doesn't imply "resolved".

As I said, I didn't find time to test the relased SU XI myself yet.

Kind regards, Michael

I'm at 60fps which is down but the clouds look great, loading is faster and everything is smooth so no complaints.

Thanks again. I'd managed to find the folders by myself by poking around a bit, but it's nice to have confirmation that I did it right.

In a climb now for a cruise down the coast.

Not noticing any decrease in FPS as others have noted.

Bill, try deleting all of the .DAT files from the following folder: C:\Users\<your_username>\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\SceneryIndexes\.

See if that helps. If that doesn't work, you can try deleting content.xml from C:\Users\<your_username>\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\.

You may need to re-install some add-ons if you delete content.xml. Navigraph is one of them.
