Nope systems are 99% the same, you won't notice in the cockpit what version you are sitting in. For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

May 8, 20224 yr $59.99 for the initial variant and $39.99 for each additional one would have been more palatable. I was planning to buy both the 700/800 but will now just wait for the 800 and look at the fenix instead.

I can still hear Robert talk about the market change for MSFS but then the price doesn't really reflect that. As PMDG is a USA based company, I am (almost) sure no VAT is due . Edmundo Azevedo

Its more of how he has been communicating lately. Im worn out from all the “just wait guys! Its gonna be great and you will be so happy!” Agreed! Not seeing the effect of the additional sales potential of the MSFS market reflected in the announced pricing here... 4 hours ago, Stearmandriver said: The reality is that none of the NGs fly all that different from the others; not differences that would translate to the sim anyway. As far as performance and range, there's nothing any other variant can do that the -700 can't. Now if you WANT multiple variants, that's cool. I'll certainly grab the -700, and might grab the -900ER just for fun (or wait for the -Max9). But that's just for fun. In terms of functionality, it's not like you're being forced to pay for extra functionality. This angst over a sub-$100 cost on what is a generally expensive hobby to begin with is just strange to me. In the end, if you deem it too expensive... just don't buy it. I like F4U Corsairs too, but I seem it to not be worth buying one (in reality) lol. Exactly! They are very similar. This means a lot of the development effort will have benefit all four variants. Why do customers have to pay the full price all over again for the additional variants? As to why people would want to buy multiple variants? Isn't this what this hobby is all about?? Simulating as closely as possible the real world counterpart? 2 minutes ago, leec said: $59.99 for the initial variant and $39.99 for each additional one would have been more palatable. But yeah... $69 for a product that's the result of 2+ years of work by an entire dev team... the horror. 😂 Actually, they spent much more time than 2 years on it. I'm sure they had close to 2 years invested in the NGXu before the announcement of msfs. They basically had the rug pulled out from under them for that product line in P3D. Software is a funny thing. It is like art. It's not grown, made in a factory, or mined out of the Earth. People lock themselves in a room with a computer and create it. Asking me to pay $80 for a product that people have invested years of their time, energy, and knowledge in is highly appropriate. I don't care what your vocation is, I guarantee you that I can find customers that think your pricing is too high. There's always someone. All of the developers took it in the shorts when msfs was announced. It destroyed their product line planning for years to come, and it took four years for them to recover from it. To tell you the truth, I'm actually shocked at how low the prices are. 1 full tank of fuel in my boat is going to cost over $400 this year and that will only last 2 weekends. 4 planes is a bargain. I mean in terms of entertainment, that's NOTHING. A couple isn't going to dinner for that. A family isn't going to the movies for that. Many people spend more than that in a month for things like coffee. Not to mention the folks who like having a few beers with friends. But yeah... $69 for a product that's the result of 2+ years of work by an entire dev team... the horror. 😂 My only concern about PMDG "products" is that after 2+ years of dev work, usually they leave their "products" alone after few updates. The Asobo team is teaching a new way to dev companies: no more forgotten "products", and you have to keep your work to make your "products" better and better. This is happening to the PMDG DC-6 too: forgotten the XPlane version, forgotten the P3D version, and no news from the FS20 version (affected by very verified and real bugs, and no assistance when you ask help through their dedicated forum). Also, there wasn't a promotional price for me, old NGX customer, for the P3D NGXu version, and no promotional price for the newer FS20 version: so, dear Captain Randazzo, I'll keep my wallet closed this time. P.S.: I'm using "products" because sometimes it's very strange from my point of view to see a game and our enthusiasm used to make money, simply I can't manage it. I understand that the dev work have to be paid, but I don't like the PMDG strategy to make cash for old products, nothing new under the sun. It's just my opinion. May 8, 20224 yr Surprised the pricing essentially means those who have store credit get two free planes. They are leaving a ton of money on the table from people who would have bought it anyways haha.
May 8, 20224 yr It is quite disappointing that one would have to pay the full "un-discounted" price for the 800 variant on top of the price paid for 700. The 800 is the most common variant globally, and most airlines and routes do not have the 700. I believe this is not an issue for the North American folks. Would have loved to have it made available for a small incremental price. Looks like a shrewd decision by PMDG to sell the 700 first (most like me cannot resist the temptation of getting it now, rather than wait 2 months for the 800), and then tempt us again with a full priced 800 in August. For now the plan is to just be done with the 700 and pretend its an 800 on routes / airlines not served by the 700.
