To contradict myself, one thing the -600 should have going for it is that is a variant that actually flies differently than the others…from what I’ve read it’s more “wobbly” (super technical term) because it’s so short compared to the  wingspan.  

I prefer the -600 over any of the other versions, so it is not simply because of the lower price point.

LOL. You are not alone, I like very small and very large planes due to their uniqueness. So I will likely only get -600 (or -700 as it has cargo too) and -900.

I emulate Southwest exclusively, and although it uses both the 700 and 800 (and the MAX), it has run the 700 far longer - (since 1997). It did not add its first 800 until 2012. I simply like the look of the 700 better - and it is easier to maneuver (on the ground) at some of the smaller airports SWA serves.

Yep, same here. I bought the DC6 and no vat was charged.

Not sure why Milviz are charging vat and I'd like to know where this vat payment is going?

If I was a rational person, I would wait for the 800.  I have the 146 and MD80 to keep me fully occupied in the meantime.  If I was a rational person……..

A bit over my expectations and comfort zone. The sad thing is that now I see a clear trend, i.e., a good airliner for MSFS is $70, give or take, and no hopes of being lower.

I'll wait for its release in Marketplace. At least I'm sure the price there will be comparable to a night out down here (as some people use as a reference), instead of a whole long weekend getaway...

I can’t see how anyone would want each and every variant of the 737 unless you’re a diehard fan of the frame.

if you’re someone who just likes the -800, like the majority, then it does absolutely amount to be cheaper as that should be the only variant you should purchase. Unless of course you want all the other variants for bragging rights.

No idea where the vat payment in the Milviz shop is going. @Gerwil wrote the difference between Milviz and PMDG might be due to the fact that PMDG is based in the US, and Milviz is Canadian. Which may explain the "why" but not the "how" of the VAT payment 😉

It's a fairly intelligent pricing strategy because it lets people who don't insist on having every single variant get off at a lower price point than we've paid before, while allowing "whales" to help support further development with a much larger spend.

 

I want the -800 and -900. I have to pay more for these planes in msfs than I paid for them in p3d. Thats what grinds my gears. Not only that, RSR knew exactly what he was  doing developing the -700 first. gotta give credit to him. Hes a smart man.

 

I remember a lot of hoopla from RSR saying P3d products were priced so high because it wasn’t an entertainment platform. I guess MSFS isnt an entertainment platform either based off these prices. 
 

I regret defending him for the above statements all these years. 

Thanks to RR for giving the -700 first.  Always liked the -300 more then the -400 as well! 

Am I the only one who has extreme hunger for a modern, still operating airliner to the point that I don’t want to wait for the 800 even though I should? 

The pricing policy reflects the fact that the vast majority of potential purchasers are going to buy one copy and one copy only.

For that majority the 737 is priced very attractively.

So a great price if you only want one variant, but not so good if you want all four.

I'll wait for the -800 and just buy that.

Looking forward to seeing the reviews and feedback on the -700 though (from proper users. anyone notice that a lot of the YouTubers - not all - that had the beta didn't have a ...err..... great understanding of the aircraft 😁).

This is a perfect example of what I think the problem is here. I have literally bought every plane that PMDG has produced, going back to the FSX days. However, I failed to buy the NGXu during the promo period. Therefore, no credit for me to offset the MSFS 737. Conversely, one who never bought a PMDG plane in their lifetime, but did get “lucky” enough to buy the NGXu during the promo period, gets a $100 credit against the MSFS 737. Is this really “more than fair?” To me it seems more like a childish game. Quite frankly, it word not allowed me off. I have been attacked in the past on these forums for daring to suggest that longtime PMDG supporters should get some sort of loyalty discount , but this is unfortunately just not the case. There really is no other way to slice it. Anyone who honestly thinks this is “fair” is really missing the big picture here.
