Fenix and performance

Yeah I was generalizing. Interestingly I also have a 1080ti (and a Ryzen 5600x) and have never ever been GPU limited in MSFS. It's a great card, a classic that still holds its own these days.

If you're not GPU limited, you're not trying hard enough!  😆

There is no reason to adopt this "amazing performance innovation"

I see, because its not for you we better not talk about it or use it. Becasue we went down the intel route. O dear.....bo ho.

Let hope no one else thinks of this  innovation becasue you cannot use it.

Yes I do, my Ryzen 5800x doesn't have an iGPU, as a potential Fenix customer I want to know if this A320 will adequately run on my system.

Reading your specs post - Your GPU may be an issue as its getting on the older end but no one here can give you a 100% answer as we all have various hardware configs and settings.

Thank you for your opinion, my gtx1080 runs perfectly at FHD with other other study level airplanes at max details. But seeing other systems much better than mine running the Fenix A320 with some difficulties, I'm evaluating carefully if to buy it or not.

I get it - Its probably best not to buy it in your case if you have these concerns. But I have also seen lots of other people including myself where I'm having a stable experience.

250 terrain detail has never been a problem with my system, I use it especially for night flights with good weather. If I had an RTX 3080 should I lower my settings to allow my airplane runs adequately? Realism and immersion are subjective, but this implies both a real and extensive landscapes and realistic airplane systems.

I checked my BIOS and I do have an integrated GPU, so I activated it - the performance increase in the A320 is amazingly good with the screens rendered on the iGPU!

Am in flight now using it for the first time the iGPU runs around 72%-82% on quality.

Happy days

You don't need an iGPU, just putting it on the normal GPU gives me 5 FPS more (because MSFS is CPU limited most of the time).

Also I doubt that no other study level airplane needs performance increase on any system...

Surely extra performance is always welcomed, why wouldn't it be?  I noted a significant performance increase by utilising the iGPU.

I can't imagine any study level airplane not benefitting from extra performance.

I actually see the same thing, we have same specks though.

Some people have reported the opposite by using the iGPU.

The good thing is about the Fenix system is you can make the changes on the fly and see the performance difference in real time.  I quickly discovered performance was better running the systems on my 3080ti instead of my 5800x.  This is probably due to me being main thread limited using default ultra settings.  With 2k resolution my GPU was basically taking a nap.

Just checking in to say that after loading the plane with a balance setting in the UI, the sim was very smooth @30.

I reloaded the sim with a quality setting and again, the sim was smooth. I do use a 1080P monitor.

What other study level aircraft are you flying?
