PMDG not planning to update LNAV for P3D

Microsoft / Asobo corrected the main problem all sim suffered for many years: the lack of income after the initial purchase.

Do you think it is fair to buy the main sim around 60€, no matter if it is fsx, P3D, msfs or xplane, then after this initial purchase, buying aircrafts or sceneries costing more than 100€ for some of them in which Microsoft, LR, LM will not get a sigle cent on those purchases? While PMDG, Fslabs, Inibuilds, etc etc earns even more money whitout redistrinuting a part to the initial developper of the sim.

That's why the msfs marketplace exists and it will bring a constant flow of cash to Microsoft / Asobo. And tht's why they said that the development of msfs will last more than 10 years.

And it seems to work because most developpers wants their products to be available on the marketplace.

Of course it's fair.
What work did MS, LM or LR put into developing those third-party developer aircraft or scenery add-ons?
Any work they did do, was on their own platforms to make them more appealing to potential customers/more usable to current customers. Any improvements made to the base sim are not altruistic.

It's upto the flight sim platform creators to charge the correct amount to cover their costs of development, subsequent improvements and any support they wish to provide, while leaving enough in the bank from the initial purchases to be profitable.
MS has gone down the subscription model (in all but name) with their Xbox Game Pass. LM and LR rely on the older method of releasing new products every 2-4 years.

MS, LM and LR sales figures are limited by the number of people interested in flight simming as a whole. Third-party add-on developers are limited by the number of people willing to buy add-ons for the FS platform their add-on is developed for. The latter group most definitely have a smaller pool of customers.

I won't be moving to MSFS. I  will stay on p3d until I it dies die.

There. Fixed. it's not about what MSFS offers or will offer than what it doesn't and never will. Nothing about the relative merits of platforms, just I'll never see the older airplanes I happen to enjoy flying in MSFS. I will be buying the iFly MAX, just like I bought their latest 737, but more to support them and have something current to mess with when the mood strikes. As for RR, his business is his business and I doesn't hurt me to give him the benefit of the doubt that whatever he said in the past was sincere and things did not work out as expected. And:

"Tell Michael it was only business. I always liked him."

That's the beauty of carefully ambivalent Godfather analogies!

They said that about fsx

3 years ago Locheed Martin said it was 'the year of the simmer'

They still haven't fixed the green text box stutter, the full screen dx11 issue or the dodgy vector data.

In short I don't believe a word any developer says, wether its asabo, LM, aerosoft, pmdg ,Orbx, flight factor, quality wings or fenix.

They all have said they would release finished bug free products and as of typing this they have not.

Do you guys think that PMDG are more or less keen to fix bugs and introduce new features in their Prepar3d products after seeing this kind of attitude from the Prepar3d community?

As if one attitude or another would have made a difference
