PMDG not planning to update LNAV for P3D

@David Vega Could not have said it better myself.

Look at GFO, it still promised on their 737 sales page for release in 2020 lol.

  • PMDG Global Flight Operations compatibility (when PMDG GFO is made live in late 2020!)

This I assume would be both useful to MSFS and P3D, so what happened to it?

Great salesman, terrible project manager would be my guess.

Remember when they removed nearly all the 772 liveries from the ops center that were "accidently" released with the 200ER? We were told we would need to buy GFO to gain accesses to them again.

I only bought the 772ER under the assumption that they were going to bring an updated VC and Rain Maker. If I had known they decided to change their mind I wouldn't have bought the ER expansion.

They were so close to releasing a P3D version of the Jetstream 41 several years ago, and then.....nothing. That was no doubt a big disappointment for some.

I have bought pretty much every PMDG aircraft and variant, spent an absolute fortune. I picked up the B737-700 for MSFS as I had the voucher. Not sure if I will ever buy another product from them. Just got sick and tired of listening to RR talk as if his company were making the real aeroplane for us, only for him then to blame others (ASOBO) for show stopping problems, meanwhile other developers kept quiet and released better products but without the waffle and drivel. They let their product speak for itself. All this time and delay for the B737 in MSFS and they couldn't even deliver an EFB at release! Pretty much every other high end developer can and did. I am happy just flying the Fenix, which is a far better product. PMDG were for a long time king of the hill, however over the years they have failed to innovate whilst others have and have been overtaken in my opinion.

I have voiced my opinion once again in the newly created thread. I don't think it will change anything, Robert being the arrogant person that he is. However, it is slowly but definitely becoming a PR situation that they'll need to attend to.

I along with others have been pressing for answers with regard to the P3D situation for many months now. Now that they have tasted the sweetness of the MSFS side of things, I doubt these discussions will even stay relevant.

What is important is, that we now have confirmation that PMDG is no longer the reputable brand they once were, and that any investment that we do in MSFS should be subject to the *actual* state of the product, never to future enhancements, as they can't be trusted anymore.

That per se, in my book, is the road downhill to mediocrity and irrelevance. Let's see where PMDG is in 10 years and what kind of company they become.

Quote from RR from the topic on their forum:

Quote

I think a few in this thread perhaps need to go take a dog for a walk and enjoy some fresh air and sunshine and stop looking for trouble in every unparsed sentence. It would seem quite silly that I would kill off an entire product line and platform in a two sentence reply in this manner- and I am pretty certain that most of you in this thread know that quite well.

The asked question was specifically "will this come to P3D" and my reply is very specific to his answer. It was announced upon release of the 777-200ER that we were shifting our development agenda to the 737 for MSFS. I have stated a half dozen other times that currently 100% of our development team is focused on the 737 for MSFS. Nothing else is being worked on. Nothing else is being planned. Nothing else is being considered.

This is a statement about here and now. In two months when all of the 737s have been released, we will take a step back and evaluate from there.

When PMDG have an official policy change on P3D, it will be made front and center- not as a "by the by" appendage to a third party reply.

What a way to speak to loyal paying customers. As far as i can see, the thread is quite constructive and just really P3D users looking for clarification on PMDG's standpoint on the sim. I hate to see PMDG lowering their standard like this.

Well I got this for voicing my opinion on their forum, I guess I have been called a liar.

"You have received an infraction at PMDG Simulations. Reason: Advertising without permission ------- Ivan,

Please do not engage in deliberate misinformation in the PMDG forum. Nothing has been offered that changes our position on P3D and you know this well from long participation in our forum. Continued misinformation campaigning will be met unfavorably by the moderators"

I encourage folks to visit the IFly forum and offer those guys some encouragement on their MAX development. They have a statement on their product page stating continued development and appreciation for. P3DV5. They are a small group of courteous and humble guys who answer issues quickly. They don't have plans to bring their 747 to V5 but with a little prodding, who knows. If you're unfamiliar with IFly I suggest take a look at their web site and explore their product page and forum a bit. It's consumers who make competitive alternatives happen.

Also suggest you all  have a look at the latest iFly “Advanced” release for P3D v5.  Ten 737 versions in the package and I will leave you all to check the LNAV/VNAV SID/STAR performance for yourselves.

Me too.

Interesting how they’re calling it spreading ‘deliberate misinformation’ as opposed to ‘seeking clarification’. Interesting way to treat your loyal customers. I won’t be giving them another cent.
