June 10, 20223 yr Hi there, I have an issue with MSFS2020, the photogrammetry setting is turned on as I like the detail, unfortunately in built up areas, I.e: London, all of the buildings do not look right. I can only describe it as they looked kind of melted, if I pause the game then like 10 seconds later that area I'm flying over will finally clear up and look ok ish but still doesn't look great. any solutions? I have tried all the basic stuff like emptying the cache etc, I have a good internet connection too and a decent PC set up. NVIDIA RTX3070ti, 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-11600K @ 3.90GHz 3.91 GHz, 32GB RAM any help will be much appreciated Thanks Perry
June 10, 20223 yr Flying in VR, I have seen the scenery snap in and out from like you describe to sharp and crisp buildings and then back to melted all inside of ten seconds. I believe it is due to whatever server MSFS2020 uses is lagging. It comes and goes as far as I can tell. It also affects other things in the sim. Perhaps it is my internet, but mine is quite fast, so I'm thinking it probably is not on my end. Sometimes if I re-boot my entire computer or at least MSFS2020, it will improve on the next attempt. June 10, 20223 yr Google Earth does exactly the same thing. I don't think there's anything to do about it.
June 10, 20223 yr Here in Portugal, and Spain, today and the next few days, makes a lot of sense ! It's HOT enough to melt anything.... June 10, 20223 yr What about manual cache? I haven’t tried that in ages. Would it help downloading scenery in manual cache for PG cities you commonly fly to/from? Edited June 10, 20223 yr by Cpt_Piett 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

PG can be nice if it's a large area....but some of the places it is available are so small it looks out of place with the surrounding non PG tiles. I have a love hate relationship with it. Great for GA flying where this is a lot of coverage (like east coast of Florida, Chicago, New York etc), but not so great at higher altitudes or smaller cities where there's a 10 square mile coverage area. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

I don't think this works as designed still... It gave me crappier photogrammetry than just full internet streaming, I thought it was supposed to take some bandwidth load off streaming to make more efficient loading? I just turned it off for now. June 10, 20223 yr Turned PG off after a few tries and never looked back. There is no other 'solution' to your problem: PG is mostly word not allowed imho.

On the contrary PG is mostly very good. A small amount of it is really poor. A small amount is excellent. The vast majority is very good. I spent most of my time flying slow Helicopters @ less than 1000ft AGL. I look at it a LOT 😄 Of course all of it blows the illusion at around 200ft. that's undeniable. Anyone who spends most of their time between 2500ft - 10,000ft should be seeing great looking PG in the vast majority of areas except the UK which has the worst PG in the sim. If not it must be some kind of streaming issue.
