There is -- I think -- an addon to fix NY bridges, by a developer called "rkbridges".  I say "I think" because I believe they did some or all of the New York City area bridges but I'm not 100% sure.  Check simmarket or the MSFS Marketplace to verify.

Sure there are downsides, like with all games, and sure things could have been better for some parts, but that's life.

I would so much like to agree with everything you're saying but when you refer to this masterpiece as a 'game' over and over it just bites.  Sure Microsoft sells it as such under the XBOX banner but Jorge is trying his best to make this the best 'Simulator' the world has ever seen and he's actually done it.  It's shameful to see Wiki refer to XPlane as a sim and this a game.  I applaud Jorge and Asobo but they have to compromise what this truly is as Microsoft is paying the bills.  They don't see this as a learning tool, historical tool, and future real world pilot influencer.  'Games' can't do what this franchise has done in the 40 years of it's existence.

It covers all the main Manhattan ones and a few more. (about 25 bridges iirc.)   Very good indeed.       That combined with SamScene's NY addon and a NY waterfix from flightsim.to  really transforms the area.

 

It's probably a bit pricey just for bridges, but  if you are a regular NY flyer is an essential IMO.  I like a nice Heli trip around NY a few times a week so it was a no-brainer .

I'm guessing they have good data on how many people fly in the US that justified going back to the US for a World Update given the SDK/tech advancements to the sim plus the enhanced data since the last US WU.   I like it - even though I'm based in Australia.

Well I bet it’s quite a few more than in the land down under. And don’t get me wrong. AU is looking quite good these days.

I love  PG but it was awful in the places i looked.   After the fantastic Spain. Portugal and Aus PG the new stuff in the US I saw was pretty appalling, some of the worst in the sim.  I turned it off after a while, and i never do that

Thats why my PG always is off , this PG seems never to be ready, two years now melting stuff and looking like after a apocalypse - no, Thank you..

Apart from that, it's ok, don't worry. No one is going to judge you for playing videogames in your spare time.

These WU, although I just use one, may offer additional terrain detail that can also help with their new algorithm for calculating thermal radiation based on terrain type / Albedo, and add to the experience when  further along the way, somewhere this year, we get the Weather udpdate that reinforces soaring weather.

When I installed MFS for the first time I did push the WUs every time they were released, but they are pretty much useles to me, less the Portugal & Spain one, so, I look fwd for an update for this one.

Actually  during the WU10 the WU8 ( Portugal & Spain ) did push a few megabytes of update too. I thought they had fixed some quirks, such as Beja Airbase having disappeared, but it's still missing.

On my way from SFO to LAX. So far everything looks fine. The only annoying thing was that ATIS wouldn’t stop babbling for 10 minutes or so when I had Oakland Center (I think) tuned. 
Edit: The second annoying thing was that after touchdown the Fenix kept on barking „retard“ at me until I ended the flight😅.

You know what, that's actually it. We're delegitimized at home calling this thing a 'game'.  We're all serious as to the detail of the model and the flight dynamics all at the same time we're getting laughed at.  For some divorce papers start getting filed for others the patty wagon is getting called...😶😁

I will have another try but had a very odd first post WU10 experience last night. Startup/push went fine but after that had issues getting off the ramp! No other things touched config wise except WU10 came in.

To close out my own issue... In case anyone else experiences this. It's apparently due to a hydraulic failure. Didn't know failures were ON by default. Anyway I cleared the failures and all is good again. topic on PMDG forum I found.
