July 10, 20223 yr I have been flying GA aircraft since I got MSFS 2020, over a year ago. Recently I purchased the Fenix A 320, and only flew that for weeks and over 100 flights. The Fenix is a great aircraft and the best flying tubeliner I have ever flown in a sim. About a week ago, I got out the Milviz C 310 again, and quickly realized that while the Fenix was great to fly, there was not much to see of the great scenery in MSFS at 30+ thousand feet. I also realized that I missed that low level flying, over the cities and country side, and now I am back to flying only the C310, at least for awhile. Wondering if anyone else has experienced the same thing.
July 10, 20223 yr Using the same aircraft as you indicate. Nice to have the options for general and commercial flights and experience the views at different altitudes. The different options also give me a great perspective for new video content. I think most would agree that the beauty of this sim platform has really been opened up for both GA and airliner aviation in the last 2-3 months with the highest level of new aircraft. I am planning to keep on flying the Fenix for quite some time but I know myself (or at least I know my simming habits after a few decades of simming) and I am sure that there will come a time when I am back to VOR only flying in a GA or something like that. And I am also sure I will be back to airliners a few months later on again. It's all these various options you have that makes flight simming so great! I think I would have stopped flying on the PC if I had been limited to one kind of plane... although I am a one plane guy, meaning that I seldom buy planes and when I do I keep flying them for months on end, if not longer (flew the Majestic Dash for years in a row!).
July 10, 20223 yr I do 5 different things with this sim and enjoy every single one of them. It's why it's the best flight simulator ever created and it's the reason why it's the last sim I'll ever master. MSFS

July 10, 20223 yr I often fly what I'm in the mood for. I don't fly certain types for weeks at a time. Flying tubeliners often has more upfront time. Such as route planning, weights, charts, programming, etc. But once in the air, you can go do whatever you want. GA flying generally is more hands on, at least for me. I really enjoy doing both!

I like both the Fenix 320 and PMDG 737, but I am loving the Just Flight 146 and Leonado Maddog. I have purchased FS2Crew for the Maddog, my first FS2Crew purchase - the extra immersion is great, especially having the FO go through his own flows. Also immersive to request autopilot changes and have the FO do it. Should I decide to 'to the beach again', where and in what would you recommend?

I am getting this soon and always been an airliner type, but looking at the scenery thinking of GA as least for a good while ( before my airliner ocd starts up again ), lol Edit: on reflection i guess one answer is the scenery is just so good. I dunno, its a good thread question, that i was going to ask myself. Edited July 10, 20223 yr by icewater5
July 10, 20223 yr I have recently gotten into Airliner flying. However I do love to see scenery. However, I like to add a little roleplay into my flights. Imagining I am flying passengers or cargo gives me an added sense of 'doing something'. GA aircraft are not used much for such things are they? Mostly just 'joy riding' so to speak or for a trip out with the family? How do you all keep yourself occupied with only GA aircraft?
July 10, 20223 yr Just now, Lotharen said: How do you all keep yourself occupied with only GA aircraft? There's nothing to stop you flying loads in GA, or PAX for that matter - AH2/OnAir/Neofly will all let you do that, as will many VAs. All that said I get quickly bored if I can't make 400+kts over the ground. Horses for courses I guess !! G Gary Davies aka "Gazzareth" Simming since 747 on the Acorn Electron

Wondering if anyone else has experienced the same thing. I just alternate between both. Flying the Fenix mainly in Europe and flying GA mainly in the Caribbean. The Fenix is the most immersive airliner I have ever seen in a sim, I just can't get tired of it, really, each flight is different fun and rewarding, with the awesome visual of msfs it is a killer. But I feel the need to explore my region, watch the beautiful landscape and seascape of the Caribbean, the corals underneath the surface fly to challenging runways, Dominica, Les saintes, Union Island, Mustique, Grand Case, Anguilla, Guadeloupe and Martinique, Castries, Antigua it is really great to fly there. I'm waiting for the Carenado PC12 and then for a great ATR to introduce me to another type of flying in the region Edited July 10, 20223 yr by cyril972

July 10, 20223 yr I'm primarily here (or any flightsim) for the scenery anyway, so my "natural" and unthinking choice of aircraft is probable the Gravel Cub or Obstruction. But I'm just as ocd about aircraft as I am about scenery so I probably have 100 or more options for flying around in, and I will happily play with anything. But often way nearer the ground than I'm supposed to be. I still like to see the scenery even if I'm in a 737 BBJ or C-17, and as I never fly multiplayer or even with ATC turned on it's really not an issue! I originally got well in to the H135, then H145 etc, but I got fed up with the constant updates to the H145 and am pretty much ignoring helis for now until that aspect goes official later in the year. Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used
