They are. According to the video it will take a few more months before they get that sorted out.

Lol not that anyone gives a hoot what I think but imo this makes them look like a bunch of amateurs . Avaricious ones, to boot, making selling points out of minor airframe differences and obsessive “look at the texture”-type trivia while being unable/cba to implement something fundamental to the actual systems they are supposed to be simulating, which they acknowledged was an issue many years ago.

14900ks, RTX4090, 64Gb@6000-30-36-36-T2, Samsung 990Pro 2Tb , Dell G3223Q 32" 4k Gsync + 27" secondary monitor.
Thrustmaster Airbus Edition throttles etc, TPR pedals, MiniCockpit FCU, WinWings FCU, WinWings Orion 2 F15E, WinWings A320 sticks.

I think they are targeting entry level simmers that would pay $50 for the -600 as their entry into a study level plane, but not the $70 for the -700 because it’s too much and more or less the same plane.  Personally I don’t think the -600 will be a big seller at all.  I wouldn’t pay $50 for it, but might be tempted at $25.  Same goes for the other variants.

Yup.  There is a segment of customers who want a study level PMDG 737 plane, but aren't willing to pay $70 for it.  Those customers may not care too much about the BBJ and cargo variant either.  They just want the cheapest PMDG 737 they can get.  $50 would be a good deal for these customers.

I especially imagine some of the X-Box simmers would prefer spending $50 for the 600 variant, rather than spending $75 for the 700 variant (it will be $75 for the 700 because the $5 discount is ending). Most likely, if someone is playing MSFS on an X-Box because they can't afford a PC, that person is on more of a budget, so $50 is more attractive for the 600 variant, even if the 600 variant is less used in the real world, and it doesn't come with a cargo or BBJ version.

I think, they just go for the broader market these days. The fact they develop for the in sim marketplace shows this very clearly. They don't aim to have the best add-on on the platform anymore (NGX was revolutionary), they just want the most revenue. You really can't blame them for that.

On the matter of LNAV. I was surprised to realize that even very seasoned PMDG simmers didn't know about their LNAV and database shortcomings. And when they found out, it didn't really matter all that much to them.

At least they are working on it. To still see pseudo waypoints on the ND in the "new" LNAV version is disappointing, though. I was hoping for more progress.

I will only buy their products again, when they get this addressed. Not that it matters much to anyone (including PMDG).

cheers,
NiIs U.

For something that has been an issue for years I would have expected more progress too.  Unfortunately they have no real competition in the 737 space, so the sense of urgency isn’t required, especially if they can still print money.

As there are virtually no routes I would fly the 600 on I have absolutely no interest in it -- even if thy priced it at $5 I would not get it --  but I do wonder who is interested in this version and why? Am I missing something?

I prefer the -600 because it is easier to get in and out of smaller airports. I suspect that I have used it for at least 90% of all of the flights that I have ever conducted in the PMDG 737NGX.

TFDI is doing a MD11 at a somewhat high level. Let them finish the 73.74,777 and move on to another new project. Maybe a 75 or 767. Heck bring a turbo prop to mix things up a little.

They (PMDG) wont do that.

They will do the 737/777/747 and by the time they're over, a new simulator will be upon us, at which time they will AGAIN do the 737/777/747 and that cycle will repeat itself until the sun explodes.

LOL lets hope they don't do this, this time around. Rob did say that his team was sick and tired of redoing the same projects especially the 737 over and over again and He needed to widen his vision and move on to other projects. Their is something new coming after the 747 per se Robert, what it is we don't know. This project is coming before the 73 Max according to a podcast he did a few weeks ago. Than the Max could be done within a few weeks time when tweaked off the NG series.

The PMDG turboprop era came and went with the FSX Jetstream 41. A hundred years from now, this little gem will be remembered as a legend that never was. A bit like Global Flight Operations.

Ohh lets hope! Im their customer since fs2004 or so and while i do enjoy their products, as a company they're really boring. Can you imagine a PMDG 727? Or maybe a C-130 or something like that.

Is that any different to Airbuses? All we see rolling out are 319-320's in all of their various minor airframe/engine differences. I have been in simming since the '80's and there is no where near the level of excitement now compared to those days as we watched simming evolve.
