July 29, 20223 yr Yea, I remember waiting eagerly for the 737NG when it was released back in 2011. I can today remember where I was when I checked the site and saw it was available and the excitement of heading home and purchasing it. It was groundbreaking at the time and I think that is the only plane I flew for the next 2 or 3 years until the 777 came out in 2013. I think what disappoints me so much with PMDG's releases now is that there is no excitement, it is just the same plane with little innovation or improvements -- well, the fire handle has much richer textures... MSFS 2024. Primary Planes: Black Square TBM850, Duke, Baron, Caravan; A2A Comanche; FSReborn Phenom; Fexix A321; PMDG 737-7, 777: Utilities: Active Sky (Passive Mode); BATC, FSLTL.

In fact....PMDG is only going to charge $34.99. How do I know? Not because I'm part of the beta team....but because they just released it! My Lufthansa and KLM -600 paints were uploaded to flightsim.to in anticipation of the release...but even I was surprised it was released....just now. I hid the paints from public view until the release....well, its out now, and so are my paints. Get them from the link to flightsim.to in my sig. I know some people swear by PMDG but personally, I find their pricing model rather greedy. I know we all have to earn a crust but c'mon, given the huge marketplace scope of MSFS, and potential for volume sales, is such high pricing still really necessary? I bought the FSX version of their 737-800 and feel a little ripped off being asked to pay again the full amount for not so much difference or innovation. At least give a discount. I might pickup up the 737-600 series and then just wait for X-Plane 12 to enjoy the impressive 737-800 series Zibo model for free. To think X-Plane 12 will cost the same as one PMDG plane says a lot. If I had been offered a discount, I might have thought otherwise. My guess is I am not alone.

I just realised I never had a PMDG product before (in FSX / P3D etc,). In FSX I had the iFLY one (I think that is what it was called). So for $35 USD, I have just dived in on this one and it is currently downloading. It's a smart move by PMDG at this price to introduce first time users to the product. Do you plan to do any more of those superb paints Steve? Edit: Just appeared as £29.01p on my credit card - a bargain! Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio. There is quite a bit to learn, especially if you're an Airbus guy but it's an interesting aircraft with some quirks that will catch you out. There is plenty of help online since the product has technically been "out" for years already. Intel Core i5-12600k, Nvidia RTX 4070 Super, 128 Gigs.
