A plucky 5th post it was. In fairness to the OP, as someome also sitting on the fence and a bit confused after everything I'd read, it is interesting to know simply if people recommend it or not in it's current state, especially as it is such a hugely anticipated addon. That would have been hard to do the in the other thread as the focus was more on issues people are having. I'm sure Umberto will fix the issues but for those of us for whom money doesn't grow on trees, it's nice to have a 'yay or nay' kind of answer while we wait for a patch or two. Anyway, this is not my thread but just my two cents. Edited August 20, 20223 yr by steve310002

The bottom line is investing in GSX now is not a waste of money. Any bugs will eventually get taken care of quickly I will add. Can we please give the respect FSDT deserves. This is ridiculous.

This seems to me that production was taking a while and they needed a cash infusion to continue on with the work, which is...fine, I guess. But don't criticize him for giving an honest assessment of the product, which in it's current state is indeed... quite "harsh", or rough around the edges if you will.
August 20, 20223 yr It's a rushed product that needs a lot of TLC right now. [MSI MPG X870E Carbon | 9800X3D (PBO +200Mhz / -20 Offset) | Corsair 64GB DDR5 (Custom Timings) | RTX 4090 Founders Edition (Undervolted) | WD SNX 850X 4TB + 4TB | Antec Flux Pro]

Hardly ridiculous, I was asking the same question, but was put off by the bugs in 737NG's original video, let alone the follow up. Never had anything from FSDT, so at this moment I wouldn't consider it from what I've seen of it. Ultimately, they pushed a flawed product. Other devs would get slaughtered for that. I'll be watching with interest and see if they fix it properly. G Gary Davies aka "Gazzareth" Simming since 747 on the Acorn Electron
August 20, 20223 yr Imagine back in FS 5 (which was Dos 1993) having all this action. Just a dream back then. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

Its fine to be upset that it doesn't work as flawlessly as in P3D but to notion that they published and unfinished product knowing FSDT history is definitely RIDICULOUS. Please show me a product that has been rushed in the past let alone something released with bugs that was never fixed. As you said you have never owned a FSDT product yet "other developers would get slaughtered"??? Who have you been buying from? There is really only 4 off the top of my mind as far as cornerstones of the Flight Sim industry and FSDT is one of them. To be honest Nobody deserves this nonsense especially one of the top contributors to our hobby. It will get fixed so relax. Still a great deal for what it will be going forward. Anyone Remember AES Credits? 🤣
August 20, 20223 yr I think Emmanuel's comments were in main pretty valid and sum up most people's experience with GSX thus far in MSFS. However, GSX was pretty groundbreaking in its day and moved the bar again with the release of L2, so I've no reason to see why FSDT won't push to get beyond the pain threshold of rolling out into a new platform. This is new territory and considering it PMDG took 3 times longer than they planned to get the 737 out, FS Labs are nowhere to be seen in MSFS along with Majestic, then clearly this stuff isn't easy. A lot of the issues raised in his video are easily solvable anyhow - the whole GSX ground operation takes too long and everyone shuffles lazily around like they've got all day. They need an option to turn off crew boarding or make it instant, ability to fuel and board pax at the same time, connect the tug quicker and earlier in the push, make the equipment around the gate spawn away from the aircraft and drive up when requested rather than cluttering up the gate area and make that the dispatcher doesn't try to get run over by the aircraft by going to the wrong side. These additions alone would solve many of the highlighted problems.
August 20, 20223 yr Refreshing to see an 'influencer' post an honest review instead of just chasing likes. 9800X3D | 5080 | 32GB | 2TB NVME | Dell Ultrasharp U3415W 34" | 3440 x 1440 60Hz

Anyone Remember AES Credits? 🤣 The unacceptable flaw with GSX, as was pointed out in the video, is that it crashes the sim. I can stand feet going through floors and tortoise speeds but I can't stand paying thirty quid for a CTD fest. If I could get my money back I would.
August 20, 20223 yr I take the risk to ask 2 "naive" questions (without any intention to complain as I've not purchased this addon yet) : - Is it really immersive to see passengers boarding, or people loading the luggage ? Despite the efforts of MSFS to make human people as realistic as possible, the animation looks yet like a cartoon. For me, the sounds in the flightdeck (like PA announcements) are doing much more for immersion. Then, you really have the feeling to sit in a real airplane. - When you are mostly flying online (but I know only 5-10% flightsimmers do), having to wait a long time for getting the pushback isnt' quite annoying ? Mainly when you are flying in the evening and have to work early on the next morning ! Most ATC positions are closing about 22-23 h (local time). I much appreciate the videos of Emmanuel (737NG Driver). I think that, as for othetr users, multiple CTDs, not the unavoidable bugs of the program, explain his reaction. August 20, 20223 yr The only way to successfully assess any new product is to buy it and try it for yourself. I have never and will never allow my decisions to be influenced by an "influencer". It is impossible to tell what motivation they may have behind the scenes whether it may be positive or negative. On top of the minor flaws that exist in any new release for this MSFS moving target, there are, as always, the varying user experiences, ranging from "it crashes my simulator", through "feet through the floor" to "it works perfectly for me", all of which are anecdotally evidenced in this very forum topic.

Yet, the video shows a very flawed and clearly unfinished product. If they didn't know that then I'd question their competence, because the issues are not subtle. FSDT's history doesn't come into it. Yes but a product that really does randomly crash the sim is not a minor flaw I wouldn't have thought? Edited August 20, 20223 yr by jarmstro
August 20, 20223 yr I ran this at 2x speed to hurry it up. Yeah some of the same problems still as the first video. Looks more natural unloading suitcases than loading, crew bangs head under the plane, wingtips hit by truck. Doesn't discourage me, I guess I'm easy to please, a model consumer for this economy! Yeah, they can take my money now. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel.
