GSX Pro - Top or Flop?

Featured Replies

I feel the title of this topic is deliberately provocative. GSX is in its early days and it would be naive to expect it to be either error free or completely unusable. The truth lies somewhere between those two extremes.

The author has shown himself to be very proactive with customers and quick to fix problems.

So let’s have less of the extreme reactions and more reasoned discussion. With each update things will improve if his past reputation is anything to go by.

No - the OP has simply started a new thread and used the question in the review as the thread title - pretty obvious to anyone who actually watched the whole review.

if people want to be defensive that’s there right, I for one am thankful for his honest opinion, which lets be honest here is backed up by the footage, I wish more influencers were like that.

Well done OP - you’ve saved me some money - for now 😊

I disagree. I've been out at work for the past 3 weeks, and haven't been in the loop. This topic has given me information, quickly, as to whether or not to buy it yet. It's much easier finding a topic like this, rather than having to sift through dozens of other forums and posts to get any meaningful information. That said, I'm going to hold of for now.

Many posts on Facebook stating the same thing.

totally  agree  like  to know  one  addon  that worked from  day  one  with no issues

Simple Traffic worked as advertised from day 1 for me and continues to improve (expanded livery coverage).

Sorry to hear that some are having troubles, but it is working great for me. I'm going to say "Top" because my last flight, and my current flight have been exactly the flights I spent years in FSX and P3D trying to accomplish. Great scenery. Smooth as glass performance. Complex aircraft. Excellent ground services and pushback. With GSX's arrival, and the current SU10 beta version, I'm going to say that for me MSFS has finally arrived. It feels solid, and complete.

AI & ATC... That's all I need. And this lamp... And the remote control...

Completed my third flight just now with the Fenix A320, previous one was the PMDG737, both without issues, and using GSX and Real Traffic to really test the system. The only thing i have found since launch is i have to click the GSX logo on the drop down window a couple of times to open. Apart from that, oh and the 737 600 does not appear to be set up properly yet (But i'll get to that at a later date) and just used the 737-700.

Yes there were horrible issues on first installation, but after removing the lot, and starting again, it has operated pretty well for me. I am sure FSDT will work away to resolve any issues given time.

just watched British Avgeek uninstall gsx pro on his live stream, its a pure flop 2x ctd

Anyone who has used GSX in P3D will know it’s a stable mature addon. The topic title suggests it could be a ‘flop’ in MSFS which is insulting to the developer.

He would never release a product that didn’t work on his system. The use of the word flop is not respectful.

Any new release for MSFS will have teething problems. To expect a perfect product on first release is naive. Anyone who is thinking of buying it should hold back.

It’s the title of the topic I feel invites criticism, not the discussion.

Ray. I've no doubt that the developer is well intentioned and I'm not going to loose any sleep over it but the fact is that GSX costs a considerable £30 and it crashes a lot of peoples sim. If I bought a kettle and it constantly blew the circuit breaker in my house I'd complain and I would have little sympathy for Morphy Richards.

Is the problem really with GSX, or the current limitations of MSFS in terms of addon development?

I haven't had any crashes with GSX yet in 5 flights I've done with it enabled. I only fly the FBW A20N, people with crashes which plane are you in when it happens?

The place to complain is in the FSDT forum. I see the author of this topic has created a mirror one over there so that is the place to report problems with full details of what initiated the CTD.

Whilst the author visits AvSim this is not a support area.
