I have been recently experiencing CTD more often. Lately I was on a flght into London and everything just freezed when on short final, no crash nothing just freezed and I had to exit via task manager. Two days ago, I was departing in Hamburg and a CTD without any error message in the event viewer occured on the take off phase. Just a moment ago, I wanted to depart in Luxembourg - after a 30 minutes wait, due to the vatsim event - and it again crashed during take off phase.

I thought maybe this is because of my ssd was pretty full, so I emptied it and get some 35GB extra. Obviously this hasn't any effect. I do not run the BETA, GPU drivers are up-to-date, new windows updates not available. After the last crash the event viewer says that ntdll.dll is faulty. I don't run GSX, yet.

Does anyone experiening the same lately, or is it just me?

Could be anything--I haven't had CTD for a very long time.

You had to read the whole thread to understand that there was a server issue and many people had CTD problem. However, I has been solved by Asobo/MS and there shouldn't be any CTD related to this particular issue anymore.

I did an (almost) six hour flight yesterday with no issues, my first since last weekends 3 CTDs in two flights.

Three and a half hours into a flight today and just before TOD - CTD!

Not ntdll module though,

Faulting application name: FlightSimulator.exe, version: 1.26.5.0, time stamp: 0x00000000
Faulting module name: FlightSimulator.exe, version: 1.26.5.0, time stamp: 0x00000000
Exception code: 0xc0000005

Annoying!

Yesterday, I started having hard locks and BSOD's suddenly only in MSFS, but I think it might be a compatibility issue with my AMD GPU - Reverb G2 - Refresh Rate timing - TDLR with my motherboard. Could be anything, they suddenly went away but I am still getting a few CTD's here and there. I am returning the AMD 6900xt for an Nvidia 3080 for now, will try the Nvidia and see how stable it is.

The main problem with AMD is the Adrenaline software, that software is awful. The second issue is every time you have a crash, you will always wonder, was it the AMD as the cause...?

I think MOST of the time I had serious crashes I was in DEV or VR mode, in regular flying just plain CTD's as I recall. PC is 100% stable in everything BUT MSFS. It's not temp related and I already replaced every part except my MB (new memory, EVGA 1200 watt power, etc...).

I have random CTDs but never see an error message. Screen goes black and I'm back to desktop. Always seems to happen when I'm using quick views with the hat on my joystick or even my yoke. This can happen in the cockpit or outside of the plane. Mid-view switch the image blurs, freezes and then crash. Never happens when I just use the mouse to look around.

Have had several CTD, but just now, for the first time, a window popped up saying I had lost connection.  I immediately hit the ESC key.  Will try RESUME later.

Usually I get a pause in flight, ten five seconds later a CTD.  I got one earlier today and immediately hit ESC, the waited 30 seconds and hit resume.  Everything was okay and I resumed my flight.

I don't know if this did anything, but it didn't crash, so I will continue to do this. You may want to try this.

Asobo may have fixed some of the new CTDs we hav ebeen plagued with recently -  but not all of them, I had 3 x CTDs in an hour in multiplayer yesterday,

Exactly. It appears that the ntdll related CTD has been resolved. The "memory could not be read" thread is however alive and kicking, lol. Then there's the "breakpoint CTD". And perhaps the "worst" CTDs (which I had a few of yesterday) - which is that MSFS suddenly stops responding, and then shuts down with no error message.

After the CTD mayhem that happened around 20th of August, I quit MSFS for a week. Came back yesterday, did some windows updated that came available in the mean time, did two flights without restarting the sim with the PMDG B737 and everything went as smooth as before.

I think it's too soon to say that everything is fixed, but at least it's better than a week ago, at least on my side.

Starting 2 weeks ago I get MSFS freezing and not responding and sometimes crashing completely to the desktop.

Things that seem to make it worse include:

  • panning around the cockpit (most common trigger)
  • live weather
  • multiplayer
  • using Logitech switch gear

Same. It's ironic that I had just resolved the memory CTDs, and the very next day this new type of CTD appear. Lol.

I did undervoltage my GPU though before they appeared, so the first thing I'll do is change that. MSFS seems notorious for reacting to all sorts of changes in hardware and software.

Can confirm this happens randomly, all situations. It's not frequent and it's definitely not hardware related because i run a lot of stuff, not only MSFS and nothing ever crashes.

Hopefully SU10 with all the CTD fixes solves these as well. Let's just hope they didn't introduce any new ones 😛

You mean you also get random freezes then CTD with no error message? And you're in SU10 beta?

No random freezes, i get "memory could not be read" and the "breakpoint CTD". Most rarely the "disappear without notice", although any of these is quite rare lately.
