Getting CTD recently more often

Featured Replies

Well I haven’t been able to use the sim at all today in any meaningful way, lol. I turned off live traffic and weather. And use the map enhancement mod for scenery. Still CTDs, sigh. I guess the next thing would be to turn off all online services. Or just sit tight until the storm clears.

Quote from a Community Managers for Microsoft Flight Simulator from their forum. That's good, but I'm a little worried about the personnel resources. Keywords Gamescom and the upcoming SU10. Hopefully the topic will still be prioritised accordingly.

the data logging is very detailed, one of the advantages of having a live internet connection. Back in the day when I started this job people had to mail in crash reports. They have sophisticated event viewers and global tracking of client behaviours which should help narrow down. That said, I have seen bugs that can take quite a while (days) to fix even with tracking data... Let's hope this one is really apparent.

Hopes, but low, there are hundreds of people since almost half year with these problems, and still are only "logged", this is growing and spreading to thousands, very weird, and still no solution, maybe wait sited, in case of a long long wait. The hope is that if it is extending to more, they can solve it faster and take it more seriously and more efforts to cure it, who knows, weird times these.

They say that can´t reproduce it, don´t be silly and do not cheat people, when you can take those PCs to investigate.

It's true, I've been following this thread MSFS Application Error - memory could not be read - Bug Reports / CTDs - Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums since I started getting the CTDs in July after upgrading my rig. The thread started in April and has 1300 replies.

Finally just had a flight in Europe and no CTD, but I had breakfast too, today!

I find the suggestion of a plain text display for users on a CTD exciting. Iderally in the form that even users without programming knowledge can do something with it. If it is possible, perhaps even supplemented by the display of a disharmony between mods. At the moment I test the interaction of mods exclusively via the function of a clean startup of the MSFS. This is probably only a very surface check. 🙂

I will begin to light up two (maybe more regarding the results) white candles before and during the flights and consulting the stars alignments.

Please come back to us with your results, maybe you'll find at least a correlation. I initially suspected that it might have something to do with the type of breakfast people had, but since there were so many different types of breakfast revealed here, I came to the concluction that there is only a correlation for having breakfast and no CTD (independed on the type of breakfast). Please do the test with candles and stars, but make sure to use candles that has different smells (I like vanilla).

WIsh you guys happy landing without CTD!

Seems OK today. And with GSX installed. Were the servers  just simply overloaded over the weekend? Or what? When it's running as well as it has for me today I feel sorry for any simmer sticking to their legacy product.

I would be surprised if it was down to overloaded servers. Got to expect that MS/ASOBO have their minions running around trying to fix it - so perhaps if it's server side they may have sorted it.

Or you are just lucky today? Some people seem to have phases where they have good flights, then CTD later on. Fingers crossed it's the first one.

That`s my tought aswell, jesterday to until around 4 o'clock in the afternoon german time i did 2 flights without CTD´s. In the evening, Sim loaded sit on the runway and after some seconds - boom to desktop.

So i think it is also overloaded in the evening time because there probably more people starts simming..

Probably MS/Asobo needs more server for the player traffic of MSFS 🤔

cheers 😉

POSSIBLE FIX

Hello everyone,

Following our investigation, we are recommending you complete the below steps to resolve the ntdll.dll crash.

Manually run Windows Update (Start → Check for updates) and install any available updates.

Perform a full reboot of your PC

Launch Microsoft Flight Simulator and test if you still get the ntdll.dll crash.

Some players who are reporting in this thread that the ntdll.dll crash now seems to be resolved may have already completed these steps.

Please note that this fix is specific to this particular CTD only and will not resolve any other crashes such as the “Memory could not be read” error. If you have been experiencing the ntdll.dll crash over the past few days, please try the above steps and report back in this forum topic if the crashing is now resolved or if you are still getting this CTD.

Thanks,
MSFS Team

Please be aware that shutting the pc off and turning it back on again is not necessarily a full restart. For it to be a full restart, fast boot 1 must be disabled or the restart button must be used.

Been doing that for weeks, it doesn't work...

I have no updates to install, so I must already have that, which might explain why I haven't crashed. If that fixes it.

According to the update page, the last updates I installed were on August 12th.
