Well, just before I start a round the world journey in MSFS, this has turned up, so I am downloading it as I type.
I was going to use the C414 but this would be a good candidate now with its speed, range, and short field performance. 

I may pick up a paid version of one of the Garmin 750 units to go with it. 
I would prefer the NXi, but the PMS unit seems to be compatible with more planes.  I need to decide which one...

The PC-12 and the GTN750 will go well together for something like this world trip.  I must admit, I never thought I would be doing anything like this in the flight sim.

The problem is with it, I flew it about twice and it hasn't left the hangar since, as it is not really the kind of aircraft I picture myself in.  I got it at a sale price though so I don't regret it.

Unfortunately, the EHSI code is encrypted, so for now, I am repurposing the VOR2 indicator which I do have have access to.. not really pretty,,

I have reported this bug to both Carenado and TDS... If it bothers you as well, please report to [email protected].

The more that users complain, the sooner Carenado will (hopefully) come up with a fix 😉

The PC-12 comes with a decent pack of documentation and it's available on the Carenado site if you want to check it out ahead of time.

I'm holding out for the JustFlight PA-38 Tomahawk, which can't be that far away, right?

Cool that the wx radar works, hopefully we'll see more working wx radars once SU10 hits.  The wx API SDK is being released with SU10, right?

Another fun fact:  This Carenado thread now has "HOT!" by its name, and the PMDG 737-800 thread never did achieve that.  What an interesting turn of events that is.

My quick review after a 15 minute flight...

I handles really well.  Very stable apart from the expected pitch changes on varying the power settings.  I hand flew it straight down onto the centreline of a small runway first time.

Sounds are great.  Turbine sounds are decoupled from the prop sounds very well, and they are quite distinct.  Good reverser sounds, and it stops very well.

Really good visibility, especially when looking out of the side window.  Instrumentation sharp and clear and lots to play with. 

No mad ballooning on flap application, and it is very forgiving.

It just looks and feels very nice to fly.  It trims up well and doesn't wander as long as you don't get too fidgety on the power / prop.  

Of course, as a Carenado it looks superb inside and out.

It's a winner for me, and I don't normally like turbines!

Yeah. I saw that thread over on the official FS Forums and got all excited but they've gone radio silent on it lately so I'm trying to temper my expectations.

But I won't derail this thread with my puling for a DA50RG. I'm encouraged by the positive initial reports for this PC-12. I will be interesting, though, to see a side-by-side comparison of the Carenado and the SWS versions once they are both available.

I do love its cockpit, but not sure if the overall experience is sufficiently different to a TBM? Also SWS doing one is a good reason to wait.

Oooh nooo annoying.  I only had 5 min to fly before I left for work.  So I wasn't able to check lpv gp.  And it's encrypted argh!

I plan on getting the sws version(s) as well but I don't think either will be ready for 6 months at least.

Its slower yes but can get into slightly smaller and unpaved strips.  And it's less glass - I kinda like these mixed glass and analogue.

I guess if the WT G3000 refresh was already out I may have passed on this PC12.

Same! Having a blast on my current world trip, just en route from Russia to Japan 🙂 I couldn't restrict myself to one plane though (too many good ones to choose from), but most legs have been in the 414 with the TDS GTNXi.
