That trip's on my roadmap as well. Generally, what map provider have you found works best for Russia, Google or Bing Latest?

It's a nice looking plane. But it's Carenado....

Zero, and i mean absolutely no rudder is required to fly this thing. Which is unfortunate. Short field takeoff....no rudder. Slow flight....no rudder. Normal takeoff....no rudder. I had to check to make sure Auto Rudder was off. A bit of a disappointment flight dynamics-wise. Kinda knew this going in, just hoped for the best lol. Otherwise, it's a nifty little plane. The SWS will probably blow this thing out of the water, but for the masses, it's not bad.

It's possible they added an auto rudder in the flight model....which we cannot address grrrr.

Actually if someone from p3d still had their aircraft.cfg and fde files it may be possible

To be honest, none of them actually. I've never had as bad map coverage as in the Northeast part of Russia. As I came closer to Vladivostok, Google was okay-ish, but not great.

same goes for the PMDG aircraft.

Strange, I find myself stomping on the rudder at take off..

Same! Having a blast on my current world trip, just en route from Russia to Japan 🙂 I couldn't restrict myself to one plane though (too many good ones to choose from), but most legs have been in the 414 with the TDS GTNXi.

Hey, great idea Captain!     If I get the TDS GTNxi I could swap between the C414 and the PC-12 at least.
I take it you are happy with the TDS unit for about £43?  I notice the PMS one is an annual subscription, or quite a large fee for a lifetime buy, and some people say it can be a bit buggy also, while the TDS uses the actual Garmin code and seems solid.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's.  Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

So no cross track in GPS mode on the HSI. pretty big bug.

I'm noticing a couple of issues that I'm wondering about being SU10n beta related.

Firstly none of the white arc segments are showing on the engine displays - I get the numerical values (where present) but nothing else, I can see the arc segments flash on very briefly at the end of the test process but that's it.

Secondly the GPS system seems to be badly messed up if the PMS530 mod is installed - the GPSs get stuck in APR mode with 0 distance to go irrespective of the actual distance to waypoint and the AP doesn't capture in NAV mode - this is pretty easily resolved by turning off the mod, but it's a pretty common mod and no-one else seems to have mentioned it so I'm wondering about it being a combination of the mod and SU10.

I'm extremely happy with it and highly recommend it 🙂

Unfortunately, the EHSI code is encrypted, so for now, I am repurposing the VOR2 indicator which I do have have access to.. not really pretty,,

I have reported this bug to both Carenado and TDS... If it bothers you as well, please report to [email protected].

The more that users complain, the sooner Carenado will (hopefully) come up with a fix 😉

Bert,is the EHSI's CDI working right for you when coupled to the TDS GTNXi? On my install, if I am left of course (CDI deflected to the right) the CDI is working properly. But if I am off course to the right (CDI deflected to the left) the CDI stays centered. It never moves off center toward the left. I have not tried it with the default GNS. I did try it with full scale compass rose and with the compressed arc compass rose, and get the same result both ways.

Hi Kerry, both the CDI and the GSI needles are broken, as best I can tell.

If you stop at the GTN test page on power up, you can see that neither is deflected correctly.

Just out of curiosity do you have the PMS530 mod installed and if so does removing that make any difference ?
