they have there reasons people like you will always want more fps. you wont get more fps for reasons there having, how many times will you ask for more. why are people so ungrateful. they always want more fps, this is a flight simulator not a fps generator. will you never understand its a pre release beta.

Pilot2ATC warns of Live Traffic generated traffic in XP11 so presumably that functionality is present.

I'm sorry, but apart from a new initial GUI, I see very little if any difference from 11 to 12.

Look carefully... Some hints:

.) Real weather, and try a flight between two airports distanced enougb to be under the influence of different weather;

.) Set a date, place and time of day and check lighting and if present the Moon a it's phase;

.) Try stalls and spins in various aircraft;

.) Try the New ATC system;

.) Experience the increased smoothness even at higher graphics settings;

.) ...

This is something I've come to expect in sims nowadays, so its not something that set off a lightbulb for me as something special, or noteworthy.

I think a lot of people giving XP12 a try are looking for a "wow" moment, and many are just not seeing it yet

Yup! I know its something important to you from your posts regarding the subject over the years. But! I suspect it never even crosses the minds of most people..

XP was always pretty smooth (unless you turned on the water, etc) and that was helped by the fact the FPS always stayed within a very narrow range, rather than bopping up and down erratically. Kudos to the XP programmer's. That being said, nowadays, smoothness is not in any way a monopoly for any particular sim, especially considering the types of astounding graphics at good FPS that we now know is possible.

At this point, I kind of take smoothness for granted.... as long as ones hardware is not a potato! 🙃

Doesn't the human visual cortex average 20 to 30 fps processing in the brain? Makes me wonder why people place such emphasis on 80, 100, 150 fps. Our brains cannot tell. Smooth is what we notice regardless of FPS.

Props to the VR guy who made the video (pun very intended). I'm sure it did take a long time to make.

I'm very curious about the stall comparisons in there. XP pitch angle looks a good 5-10 deg higher than FS2020 when the stall hits.

Compared to this video:

 

XP AOA looks better, but after stall onset...yeah it's doing some wonky stuff. Though not unheard of in this overall category of airframes:

 

 

What we can not see is the VR guy's yoke and rudder movements, though I am not convinced the XP FM doesn't need some attention here.

 

Friendly reminder: WHITELIST AVSIM IN YOUR AD-BLOCKER. Especially if you're on a modern CPU that can run a flight simulator well. These web servers aren't free...

I just downloaded XP12. I see the same menu as XP11 for setting the date, but only month and day - One would have to set the year to get correct moon phases. Perhaps I am overlooking something. If you set it to track real time, I suppose it would get the year “behind the scenes”, but I see no way to enter the year manually.

I know this is work in progress. but when I look at this screenshot I just took. it's hard to imagine this is game/simulator that was made in 20222. I am not trying to be mean or anything but no amount of ortho can fix this. Which mean, it will take an insane amount of disk space and mod to correct this. If you ask me what is the worst part of Xplane 12, this is it.  it's really hard to look at this and think this is Vancouver.
