I now have 12-14 minutes loading time to get the World Map page in MSFS  v. 1.27.21.0.

Not that long ago I had around  2-3 minutes.

Is this normal and to be expected now with this build or do I have a local issue.

 

What are your loading time?

Are you using the Addon Linker? Without it my loading times would be infinitely (yes, I tried once).

For the naked sim there would be certainly something kaput.

Do you use FSLTL? Could be the reason then

Have you updated any of the more complex aircraft? I find that with the first run after an update of either the PMDG 737 or FBW A320 it can take anything up to 15 mins on my system (old and slow) while they recompile. However - everything loads as per normal after that.

I [also] use FSLTL and Addon Linker.

I get one every now and then at 5-6 minutes but never 12-15. Not sure what is different each time to vary it so much. Could be servers, time of day, internet maybe.

Are you using AIG? That's what caused this issue to me, had to uninstall it. With just FSLTL I have a nice 4 minutes loading time (it was around 12 minutes with AIG).

Long load times is normal for my setup ... both P3D and MSFS where I have considerable scenery installed.  Your graphics settings will impact this also, especially the Terrain Level of Detail (400) and Photogrammetry On and Bing Data World Graphics On.

Gives me time to review my flight plan.

1. AIG is not a cause, you don't have to start TC before you are at your point of departure in your cockpit, then once TC is started, click on the screen and go on with your tasks without waiting until AIG is fully loaded in the background.
2. Anytime you update an airplane add-on (including FBW A320), you will have longer loading times on your first flight with that add-on
3. Use Addon Linker, even though I have hundreds of add-ons, only those I need are loaded for any flight, usually departure and destination airports, Navigraph, FSUIPC, airplane, AIG, Global Ship AI Traffic, that's it 
4. Do you use Google PG sceneries? If so, they are usually very heavy in size and will take longer loading times (especially if they are all in your Community folder!).

Your first step would be number 3, and you won't look back.

 

I use addon linke, but mainly for disabling all addons with just some clicks prior to the big sim updates 😉 Otherwise, most is active all the time. Around 1000 addons in total, including both FSLTL and full AIG installation being in the community folder all the time, add GAIST to the list. Yet my loading time is never that long, maybe 5-6 mins to the world map? Never understood how people suffer from those enormous loading times, no idea, what they "do wrong"...

Same here!

10 min to check updates, then the sim starts regularly, it's happening from the last week here.

The issue with long load time is now corrected on my PC. I do not really know what caused the problem, but after a few restarts and deleting som newly installed apps, it is working OK again.

 

Now the load time is 2 min 20 second from starting MSFS to World Map page is shown.

 

 

It shouldn't take that long

• I have 522 addons totaling 132GB
• MSFS and the addons are installed on old school spinner drive
• The game loads in 2mins 10 sec

Have you tested the load times with an empty Community folder? If not give that a try so you know the load time for a base unmodded MSFS.

Also +1 for AddOnLinker, its a fantastic bit of software.

I have 200GB of add on's and that's not including PATC/SR, FSFO or FSLTL (None of these are started until the aircraft is loaded into the sim). It takes about 4/5 minutes for the sim to load into the start screen and about 2 minutes to load my flight.
