January 15, 20233 yr Microsoft need to protect the 3+ rating of the Marketplace as a whole rather than just MSFS, so they can sell games to children, hook them early and get a cash cow for 50 years...so they'll never change the rules and its pointless complaining. ...
January 15, 20233 yr @alanrco As you can see, we all have an opinion on this, and I tend to think you are right to a degree. Even if they don't want live munitions flying about (which is understandable), I think they should at least allow guns on the B-17 to allow an accurate model. But... It is their game, their rules - simple as that. It has nothing to do with this tenuous link to 'freedom' or 'forcing ideology'. Too much anger for nothing. I would just move on and live your life rather than causing yourself stress by fighting futile battles. Due to the good will of the mods, you have had your say twice now (and your 'right' to reply - which is another thing that doesn't exist), and this isn't the place to do it anyway to try to get change. The place to go is the official MSFS forum - Good luck with that though! Edited January 15, 20233 yr by bobcat999 Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio. It certainly is pointless complaining here or on any forum. If anyone does not like the rules the best and indeed only place to get them changed is by talking to the body that made them. Anything else is merely a headache for the forum mods.

I thought that the so called free world was fighting other countries that was doing this sort of thing. Forcing ideology ? A dangerous precedent ? The free world fighting against this sort of thing ?? This is about showing /not showing guns in a computer flight simulator game. For goodness sake, rein in the absurd hyperbole. Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting. https://rationalwiki.org

January 15, 20233 yr Some of you are missing the point. A family could wander around an air museum where little three year old Johnny could look at guns sticking out of multiple war planes all day long. Why is it that Mickey Mouse Marketplace thinks it is unacceptable to see one in a flight simulator? Similarly non-Marketplace addons CAN have weapons, though some devs wimp out... Which is why this whole silly argument is so unnecessary. Nobody is prohibiting your right to bear arms on your virtual aircraft if you really want them, you just need to inform yourself about who to buy them from. Ignorance of the store policy is as ever, no excuse, when it comes to getting refunds from the Marketplace but that really is for a whole new thread (but please don't start one!) January 15, 20233 yr Moderator This debate reminds me of the indignation by some when Microsoft delayed the release of FS2002 whilst they removed the Twin Towers from the Manhattan area. There were complaints that it’s a simulator so they should remain. The counter-argument was it gives those so inclined the opportunity to fly their aircraft into them. I can’t recall the outcome. There may have been a download available for those who really wanted them for legitimate reasons. Ray (Cheshire, England). I mean, yeah, it's a simulator, and they aren't there anymore in real life so... Kinda like the OP's statement that we fought wars over this. Pretty sure no one's ever started a war over whether or not guns are represented in a video game. 😉 Ryzen 7 7800X3D/B650 X AX | 5090 | 32gig | Win10 | Pimax Crystal Light
