I'd much rather they dedicate their developer resources (and cash resources) to continuing to improve the Fenix A320 for current users. Anyone genuinely interested in a payware A320 will pick it up eventually as it continues to add more features. Trying to gain market share against a free competitor product will result in a hiding to nothing. PMDG doesn't offer a trial and they are doing OK. Lots of software involves a trial period option this is not complex these days. FBW continues to add more features as well and has features Fenix doesn't have. What planes for MSFS PMDG 737 series are comparable in the freeware environment today? That's what this is about. My sense is they would rapidly pay off the cost of developing a trial option unless folks trialing the software conclude it's not worth the cost v the free option. February 18, 20233 yr Speaking of the FBW. I notice when I press one of the auto brake buttons it doesn’t light up. What obvious thing am I missing.?
February 18, 20233 yr Suggesting Fenix offering a free trial or any other respectable or even not respectable "Payware" aircraft developer in this community is pretty laughable. IMO I don't think this ever happened before in the history of flight simming. Not going to happen. Edited February 18, 20233 yr by jbdbow1970

Not quite a "free trial" but Flight1 operates a 30 day money back option, have made use of it a good few times when I felt an aircraft wasn't up to the standard I want. Meant I got to trial stuff and never paid as was credited back to my card before the bill came in 😉 G Gary Davies aka "Gazzareth" Simming since 747 on the Acorn Electron

The FBW is fabulous for what it is--I'm happy. But I understand where your POV comes from I think. You're just not in my shoes as it were, nor me in yours. I have no issues with your decision. I was merely pointing out that your were making statements about the fenix which are impossible to make if you haven’t flown it. you also claim fenix is losing customers to fbw. Based on what? Yeah there are people who fly both. Why? Because people want to fly a ceo and a neo. I also find it totally logical they don’t offer a free trial. Because they don’t have to. Demand is there and quite frankly it’s not that expensive in the first place. For the record I’m not a fenix fan boy. It could backfire too though. People take up the trial option only to realise that Fenix really is not as far ahead as they might have thought, even inferior in some aspects and go back to the A32NX, resting even more assured that they have saved themselves some $$$. I‘d suggest it‘s the other way around: The FBW has lost the majority of its regular users to the Fenix. I haven‘t heard of ANYONE who bought the Fenix and then returned to flying the FBW only/mostly only. But I‘ve heard of many for which it was the other way around, me including. There’s no harm in saying that you are perfectly happy with the FBW and don’t want to spend money on the Fenix. Instead you are fighting some weird non-buyer’s remorse of yours trying to objectivate your personal opinion into a general consensus. Truth is you are kind of living in your own world here, making up things about a product you haven‘t even used yet.
