I'm flying it right now. It's pretty good. A lot of the big bugs are gone already, but it's basically all bugfixing right now, no changes in the payload behavior. Airplane is a little less slippery now, but I did manage to peculiarly break the VNAV and begin an uncommanded descent below bug altitude (it went from ALT into ALT* and chased whatever random altitude until I turned it off, should have put it in VALT I think, possibly an echo of the STD altimeter bug).

So far, pleased with it.

Yeah, done a few already. This one: LEMD to LIRQ was particularly beautiful and I was loving the new fixes. But yeah....it does need some touch ups here or there.

I haven't flown a single real airplane that was nearly as sensitive as the ATR's vertical axis, I think I can judge this pretty well. I haven't changed my sensitivity settings yet and will wait until I try the patch tonight.

Cheers,

Pete

May I ask what hardware and settings that you use?

Edit: There is something about the nose rising too early being fixed but I don't know what the context of that is.

I found that the nose would start drifting upward well below Vr on the takeoff roll, glad that’s fixed.

Ah well that's what I figured it was about. Nothing to do with fixing sensitivity. Thanks for the clarification.

How about the nose pitching up after touchdown...I think the spoilers deploying created this movement. Has this been amended? Didn't see it in the changelog...

Tried my beloved RNP02 approach at SKPS that i usually use as benchmark to see how much i can trust the autopilot (who cares apart from me i guess 🙊).

and wooops looks like it shares a bit of code with CRJ 😁 ... i like flying a large variety of planes from very small ones to airliners but these 2 aircraft could easily be my 2 favourite planes (just between the huge airliners and the GA/BusinessJet) but, imho, their autopilot is just not up to par with what I usually consider as 'study/expert/whatever' level 😱 so i have a bit of mixed feeling for now (well ok not much, i still like it because i so much want an ATR 😜).

And yeah for the price it's absolutely great, some other payware cost 2-3 times the price and don't offer half of the functionalities of the current ATR but that's not really the point. If the plane has mixed reviews i think it's because some people expected a bit more due the the 'expert level marketing thing' (no matter the price) and not because it's bad for the price (no one can honestly pretend that). Now sure basic functions work well, but well, you know, it's just when you want that little bit more that actually makes the difference for some people while other just don't care about 😉.

I'm not sure if the AP will ever be up to par with the absolutely amazing AP that we are now so lucky to get even on default planes thanks to the great AAU1 updates and the WTT driven autopilot or PMS WTT addons planes. I think they have aknowledged the issues with the VNAV and, if they can fix that properly, this plane will certainly be one of my favourite aircraft. For my beloved SKPS approach i guess it's a lost cause because the CRJ has those kind of issues since release and i'm not really sure they really care to fix that kind of stuff that probably happens only on a few specific airports.

oh well just my 2 useless cents based on this first released version, the best is probably to come with future updates 🙊😍, have a great weekend all 🍻

I checked this after the patch released yesterday and the approach is now drawn correctly although you have to enter PS966 manually as it's not there for some reason. I didn't have time to fly it though, but will give it a go later. I bought this scenery last week after you posted this 🙂

I had an issue when I would manually enter a Waypoint, if I had to pick the waypoint based on its coordinates (MCDU gives you a choice of fixes and normally you would pick the top one) it would place the waypoint in front of the previous one, instead of after it. Is that a known bug that has been fixed or is there a workaround?

I had that issue too, hopefully also fixed, haven’t been able to try yet.

Largely, yes.

I don't trust the lateral navigation to be very good at any complex RNP procedures, but if it's a standard RNAV/GPS T-shape approach, I've flown 3 of those so far with the ATR and they've worked just fine. VPath seems to put you a little high but it's fine.

So I just flew

KMIA/08L N0271F200 FLMGO1 STYMY Q77 MJAMS/N0270F210 Q77 SHRKS/N0272F200 DCT LAIRI DCT LARZZ JJEDI3 KATL/26R

Everything was flawless including hold downs on departure and the ILS Approach to 26R.  I’m now flying PAJNPANC to check out RNAV15. So far, I’m quite impressed with this first bug fix by Asobo, and $12.99 too.   What a hoot!

PS. That FP was imported directly from SimBrief import on FMC. It too imported flawlessly, tho it appeared to hard code the ILS in after the import. I tried changing to RNAV but it would not allow. Then when I built the FP to PANC I did it in SB, but typed the route manually into FMC.  This allowed me to chose RNAV without issue.

PPS.  This

PAJN/26 N0269F220 ASORT2 ASORT DCT YESKA DCT TED DCT PANC/07R RNAV/HOPPER

gave me a perfect RNAV down to numbers. By the numbers all the way. Full automation including VPTH

Im VERY impressed now

How are you importing it via Simbrief?

Is there anything built in now? I was using the downloader and putting it in \work\ in the ATR folder, and it worked twice, but stopped working and now just gives me the two airports.

I used the Downloader and imported using the top field that does not use a /, IE KMIAKATL. Hope that helps,

Oh my god, I went completely bird-brained 3 times on it. My brain is so used to an Airbus and the autoimport functions... I see [    ]/[    ] and I can only think "Oh great! That's where I put RPLI/RCBS!"
