May 23, 20233 yr 18 months of no updates then this, weird. Doesn’t look particularly mind blowing except maybe the supposed performance improvements.
May 23, 20233 yr Wont have a chance to try out for a bit. Would be good to hear thoughts on 5.4. system i9 10850K NVidia RTX3090 24GB Samsung SSD980 m.2 1TB (x2) Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD Seagate 2TB external drive Samsung SSD 840 EVO 250GB SSD Asus B460M-PLUS Mobo 32GB GSkill DDR4 3000mhz Ram using P3D v5.3
May 23, 20233 yr Well, that's disappointing, to say the least 😕 I mean, it's great that LM maintains v5 as it should, for sure. It's just that the expectations were slightly higher than that 😄 Edited May 23, 20233 yr by Daube
May 23, 20233 yr Moderator Why the doom and gloom? We know v6 is being developed so I see this point update as the final work on v5. Looking through the fixes I didn’t see anything for extra parking positions at default airports. The other is few default airport buildings appearing until Scenery Complexity is set to Very Dense when Sparse was sufficient in earlier versions. If anyone could confirm if those have changed I’d appreciate it. Ray (Cheshire, England). You're probably the only one in here who is not concerned about some LM staff being busy fixing v5 instead of developing v6 at this point. Also, having 5.4 released now could mean there won't be anything about v6 in the flightsim expo, contrary to everybody's expectation. Edited May 23, 20233 yr by Daube
May 23, 20233 yr I guess the next version could be v5.5 or v6 based on past releases. P3D 5.3HF2 was released in Jan 22. Reset the clock, the wait continues. May 23, 20233 yr Well I was hoping for v6, but I will gladly download and install v5.4! Looking at the list it looks like they fixed a lot of things. I was hoping for better sky colors at dusk and dawn, but I guess that will wait until v6.
May 23, 20233 yr Just remember some developers have to update their software to make it compatible. FSlabs being one of them. May 23, 20233 yr I see tons of default GPS/Procedure improvement but I don't care as I almost exclusively fly aircraft with it's own navigation system (FMS, GTN750,CIVA, or just Standard radio...) I probability will wait to see it stable (some HF maybe?), or even just bypass it...

The latest version is 8538 (that was just released a few days ago), but it doesn't say anything about v5.4 on the compatibility list.
