word not allowed if people can't take jokes then maybe they should not watch.

If people can't take criticism about their taste of humour and/or adultness maybe they shouldn't put themselves on Youtube, i.e. into the public.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

No harm in having a bit of fun.  If you don't like this video you would hate what a lot of streamers do for fun.

What you are saying though if people can't take criticism then they shouldn't be saying stuff.

It's a meme if people can't accept this stuff will happen/dislike it or find it childish you are in the wrong community.

So you hate what people do for fun even though its a sim/game is what I am taking from this.

I don't think we are on the same page here, but let's leave it here before this thread gets locked. Let's rather agree we all love the Fenix and want V2 ASAP.

Why on earth a real life robot pilot wishes to come home from work and then pretends he's back at work on his PC I find utterly incomprehensible!

Oh god... not this again....🤐

After reading through all the reactions to Emi's "rant" I can't help but think that this is a cultural issue.

It's the difference between the blunt german who is not mincing words and the conciliatory american who only offers praise and sweeps his criticisms under the rug or sweetens them with, in german eyes unnecesarry and time-wasting, politeness.

I think it's best put down in the saying: "Nicht geschimpft ist Lob genug" which can be roughly translated to "Not being[Not having] scolded is praise enough".

For me, it was tying the flight model to his type rating. If he had just said, "the Fenix can hand fly like doodoo" it wouldn't have blown up (as much). After all, it's why they are redoing the flight model in v2.

It's a little odd to chide the Fenix when you are "training" to fly an A330, not a 320.  The Fenix may have some issues that are not representative of a commercial jet, such as blowing through speeds below 10,000' and whatever other issues that might exist.  However, the PMDG handles on the ground terribly, jumps around in RNAV turns like a 50 hour pilot is hand-flying it, and a handful of other oddities.  One could complaint about either of them, but I think we need to keep things in perspective here.  This simulator has proven to bring challenges to developers with respect of wind shears, unrealistic flight/ground handling characteristics and so forth.  I have watched V1 and 320 Sim Pilot, yet I can't say either of them have made any comments that put the Fenix in a negative light. There's too much disrespect in this community.

So refreshing to see a 3rd party developer conduct its development, business, and interactions with the community in the manner that Fenix does. More of this please!

Yup. I hope all 3rd party developers and commercial members on Avsim would conduct business in a civil manner and be as polite as Aamir 👍.

i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM

Honestly I like Emi's video but IMO having to swear on something without given a constructive feedback may not be appropriate. Even if a cultural thing IMO, your mouth is your enemy in many places 😅

AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, 64GB DDR5 6000MHZ RAM, RX7900XT, FreeSync 165hz 1440p display

So, you're saying that this behavior is a cultural thing?! Wow. Maybe I should avoid my neighboring country for now, then. 😕

There's a difference between giving constructive critisism and just ranting. Constructive critisism is how we make anything better, which I guess all developers aim for. Ranting is just useless and unnecessary, IMO. Personally I don't understand the conduct here... Complaining that the developer haven't 'responded' to his tickets (other than and emails/PM's -  we'll look into it - is (again in my personal opinion) an arrogant way of setting you own opinion and observations on a higher priority, than the rest of the users. Then demanding that set developer re-watch his Twitch/YouTube-streams for documentation of his claims, is just a weird argument and an ugly way of promoting and monotizing his channels. I know, that probably wasn't his intentions, but I can't help to view it that way.

Honestly, that was kinda of the 'drop-off' for me. Personally I have unsubscribed from his channels now.

Best regards,
