Marc--the poll is what it is.  It was done 3 months after initial launch.  It states of those responding, 88% had no problems.  Is it a complete picture of the state currently?  Of course not.  But it's common as stated for people who have had problems to want to voice them.  Do you think people who saw that poll and had troubles simply decided not to vote?  Of course not they are very likely to be more driven to vote than people w/o issues.  Why do you think 88% of voters voted the way they did?  Were they lying to protect MS??

And you obviously don't have the faintest idea to take out of a simple poll what can be taken out.  It's completely valid for what it is.  You just don't like what it says because it doesn't fit your anecdotally supported position.

Historically, the game has had many problems, the worst of which have been random problems.  From the classic disconnections and the No CD to performance problems with very powerful computers, CDTs, etc. 

For me the game was a pain until I saw some tricks on YouTube where playing the registry made it look like a new game without stuttering.  Of course all this is a lottery, there are people who have never had problems and others who have suffered a lot.

What's an "LOD issue in the images"?  I can see them doing this if growth in users overcame server capacity to deliver, but "LOD issues in the images" is hard to connect to the idea of server over-demand.

Can't answer they question I posed can you?  58K vote poll you'd dismiss because it wasn't 12 million.   Since you're basing your opinion on pure anecdote, here are some choice anecdotes for you:

I have the Xbox store version too.  It's erased itself multiple times. I think all the tinkering I do triggers a "configuration has changed too much". I've seriously considered buying it on Steam to see if that's better.  Also, Steam lets you back up the content. Which worked for all the other games last time I exploded my games disk.

Even a disk level backup won't save MSFS.  Once the store has decided you've exceeded a DRM limit it's done.  I think it actually removes the files too.

This is also affected by numbers of users and my guess is there are many more store users than steam versions.  Putting another piece of software between client and source de facto adds a level of complexity.  I'm not the brightest bulb in the tech world and I've had no trouble with it because I learned how to use the Store early on.  I agree it could have been clearer, but the vast majority of Store users got around that despite it.  I agree my characterization as urban myth was over the top but to characterize the Store install as problem prone is also over the top.

This sim is definitely frustrating.  It's been out how long now and I still can't do a flight over 4.5 hours.
