Potential improvements for sky colors

Recommended Posts

Okay, I think I found it, but now I can't seem to copy/move the modified .exe to the original location. It says There is not enough space? I have 500GB left on the drive though.

Let's hope they fix it so we don't have to use hacks. And a big thank you to @Biology for his findings and knowledge.

👍

what are the bets for tomorrows Q&A:

will Jayne bring this topic up and will the dev team respond beyond "we are looking into it" ?

the error message is misleading. the EXE is in more than one place. because that directory and EXE are the protected area, the NO GO zone. that's why we used the Flightsimulator.EXE in that

C:\XboxGames\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Content

directory, which is not write protected/encrypted.

I mean look how long it took for them to finally address something as small and minute as the white dot pointer issue🤣

Some of these fixes could seriously be done in 30 minutes to an hour as hotfix patches.

Can I respectfully suggest that if you don't know how to take ownership rights of certain files and folders in Windows, that you do not try this file hack?

Also, it looks as if you are about to overwrite your original FlightSimulator.exe file.
Where's your backup file? Do you realise that if you get the file overwrite wrong or apply incorrect permissions that you can stuff up your MSFS installation? That would mean a starting MSFS from scratch.

As pointed out earlier in this thread, there's a bit more than just changing the three values.

Even allowing for that, I suspect you're right. That's very likely to be the reply.
The sceptic in me is not expecting any change until the next sim.

'Look how real MSFS2024 is. Upgrade now!' 😅

I tend to agree because it is now pretty late in the life cycle of MSFS 2020.

In the meantime, hopefully Biology's hack will survive any further mandatory updates of the Flightsimulator.EXE, or do we all really need to jump ship, go on MSFS 2020 strike and threaten to ground/remove this funny

C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Official\OneStore

and move over to x-periment12. 🤣

@Asobo: considering nearly 30.000 views, this is currently the hottest thread.
