Very nice model and the cockpit is really sexy...

BUT visuals are only one part.

hot starting brings the health down to 20%... usually in real life one hotstart is the death

set the sea level OAT to 34°C and go up to lets say FL290... it will not be ITT limited and you can go up with the throttle firewalled. I doubt this would work in real world...

leave the starter on beyond 30 seconds... usually the death for the starter and generator afaik... nothing happens...

Just some findings on a first quick flight.

Looking good, feeling good, high potential but needs some more love 😉

Cheers T.

His Vision Jet video was probably one of the most exciting nerve wrecking aviation videos I've ever watched!

Which video was that?

Does the BS King Air also have these issues?  Reason I ask is if it does, that would indicate they don’t plan on fixing these issues.

Thing is it's a plane in a simulator,it needs to be realistic but forgiving enough for novices to fly successfully.. Also the issue is that in the sim failures are over done for example I know some guys IRL who baby their engines and they go bang at 500hrs and I know some who firewall there's constantly and they are operating beyond TBO... The issue with sim failures is that they are very cut and dry ie parameter X exceeded= failure where as in real life parameter X maybe exceeded for many hours before it causes an issue. Like A2As old FSX carbon build up during taxing unless you lean your engine runs rough... I have over 2000hrs in GA planes IRL and never leaned on the ground... Never fouled a plug, but in the sim like 2 minute of taxi and plugs are super fouled and need cleaning out of the plane... So I just turned it off as this realistic feature was very immersion breaking and unrealistic, I turn wear and failures off in every sim plane I fly. I find them just as annoying in sim as I do the real thing.

The king air is quite different as it wasn't a model from scratch.  This one is and it includes far more turboprop simulation than the KA.  Also, the dev is quite receptive - @Torsen they may even see your text here, or you could write your findings at the JF forum: https://community.justflight.com/category/79/steam-gauge-overhaul

When the Bonanza came out someone had written something about the EGT increases (in real life) when you have a bad mag.  And the dev added that feature like same day.

Said so well!  I understand there is a balance between what breaks and when.  But this has been my experience as well.  You don't just instantly fowl a plug by not leaning the mixture.  Some engines are just fine (until they're not LOL) without aggressive ground leaning.

The King Air is one of my favorite aircraft, so sounds like I would be more than happy with the TBM.  Purchase incoming……

Hope those who have bought and have taken her up already are enjoying the experience and the challenge and the same to those who have bought and have yet to leave the Hangar.   Quick message about feedback - if you find anything that you thinks amiss, don't worry too much, we and the developer does cast eyes regularly on this forum and anything that is certainly an issue and can be sorted will be sorted.  Of course some times it's not always that simple, some things are due to the sim's limitations or are very subjective so have to be treated as such.  But for those who witnessed events over the past week you'll know how receptive the developer can be when it comes to good constructive feedback. Never any guarantees and the final decision and work will be made by the developer in all circumstances but he and we are here and won't ignore good constructive feedback, good or bad.

To be extra sure, if you believe you've ran into a problem that you think is a real evil and does need addressing please open a support ticket with the JF support team.  That way it gets logged and fed to the developer and managed properly.

Happy Flying People!

It's a really neat plane, enjoying flying it. just a tiny bit disappointed about the boots not inflating, but otherwise it seems like a solid purchase. Very much looking forward to the Duke as well.

Is IAS mode on the AP working for anyone else ?

It just levels out the plane for me and only VS mode with the separate controller seems to control pitch.

Do you happen to be using one of my paints?

I have the same issue.  Seems to follow VS.  In all fairness, I did fire her up and take to the skies before reading the manual.

On another note, AP bindings aren’t matching (HoneyComb).  Taking a closer look in a few hours.

Initial feel of the flight model is excellent.  Seems to be a keeper at this early stage.
