Yeah it’s pathetic. So much raffle about something that is basically just a takeoff performance calculator.

I’d assume it’s more than “just” a performance calculator. The ability to directly import Simbrief flight plans and view Navigraph charts, set aircraft options and load/save panel states. Perhaps the ability to load current weather for use by the performance calculator etc. I assume that other features currently found in the FMS such as opening doors, calling the fuel truck, setting chocks and ground power, will be available in the EFB.

As it happens, for me personally, the performance calculator is the main thing I am interested it. I do my planning with Simbrief, but I prefer to enter the flight plan manually in the FMS rather that importing it, I use the Navigraph charts app on a full size iPad, but I can see where the ability to view charts in the sim would be very important for those who fly in VR.

why can’t they just give us a word not allowed release date and proper screenshots and infos?

They will - this weekend. That was the whole point of Mathijs’s post. For weeks people have been grousing about the fact that there has been no information about the release date or EFB features. Now that they have announced a specific time when that information will be presented, you’re complaining about that?

We’ve waited for over a year for this. A couple more days isn’t going kill anyone.

Pure speculation, but perhaps RSR has produced a video to go along with the announcement showing the EFB in action, as he did for the DC-6 prior to its release.

I also imagine a lot of what is in the PMDG/Ground Services portions of the MCDU will be there: doors, weights, fuel, loading, chocks, etc.

Well, that's going to upset a lot of the diehards. 'Whaddya mean I no longer click through 7 pages of the FMC to find the ground services options?' 🙃

Nothing new, just the never ending Bla bla

And the same applies to every PMDG thread on this forum.

Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting.

Yeah, but it's an announcement about an announcement. It's pretty silly.

They have had to lock a few EFB threads recently. The natives were getting restless. It was a month between RSR posts which is uncommon. He then said "we have a release date which we will announce shortly" and, well, while "shortly" is subjective, I thought we might have gotten the date last weekend. So, Matthijs headed it off at the pass with this teaser.

Devs can't win. They post nothing and get "this project is dead". That happened to Fenix after they didn't post for a bit. Or, they give frequent status updates and people go "more of the same. Only post when you have something."

I am in the boat of I'd rather I'd have more updates than none.

I think you misunderstood. He produced the video announcing that he had a production date for the video to tell us about the video they were making to tell us when we'd get the official announcement about the announcement. Sometime...

Wow, these PMDG threads get real boring real quick when the whingers make their inevitable appearance.

The whiners are just PO'd because the PMDG 737 is a great flying aircraft.

PMDG is a bit like Apple. They take their time to produce things, but when they do deliver them, they deliver them right. Buggy? Yeah, sometimes, so does everyone. Patience is a virtue, imagine the poor guys now waiting for their shiny new iPhone 16...

Now I just have to figure out if it is worth bothering with, when I fly the 737.,😉

I am looking forward to having the fuel, weight, and etc. along with actual simbrief integration.

I get all that from  the Simbrief, haven't run off the end of runway or out of fuel yet. 😁
