October 18, 20232 yr Great. A post this weekend to tell us a date some point in the future after this weekend when it will be released. Great. Eric
October 18, 20232 yr Commercial Member A little look at the new EFB for the PMDG 737 models, release date will be announced this weekend. https://forum.pmdg.com/forum/main-forum/general-discussion-news-and-announcements/267696-just-saying#post267811 Edited October 18, 20232 yr by polosim
October 18, 20232 yr Quote from Mathijs Kok: Quote The whole notion that we worked 18 months on the EFB is, of course, incorrect. Due to other projects, some commercial and some professional, we could not assign the manpower to this project as would be most prudent. https://forum.pmdg.com/forum/main-forum/general-discussion-news-and-announcements/210018-upcoming-efb?p=267698#post267698 This, right here, is what word not allowed people off. Hyping the progress of development of the EFB over "18 months" while not allocating sufficient developer resources during this period is why some people are incredibly frustrated with them. I understand that commercial and professional contracts will keep the lights on for PMDG, which is essentially in the wider world, a tiny software company. That said, the lack of faith in their customers to hear the truth that the EFB (and likely other 737 updates and other airceaft products) would take a back seat to commercial contracts shows me, once again, how little they actually value their retail customers like us. And I won't buy the defence of 'if they announced no progress, another developer would jump in.' The market is plenty big enough for another Boeing aircraft developer and PMDG are a big enough name to have brand recognition and (as we can see) plenty of customer loyalty. It's obvious that you are really annoyed with PMDG, so why don't you just fly something else then?

Well said, I had a similar response when I read that. If you need to focus on something else then by all means, do it, but stop lying to the customers about it saying that development is going great and it'll be coming "soon", when it's obviously not. I'm still happy the time has come and I have no doubt the quality will be good and I'm going to enjoy it a lot, but man has the communication surrounding this been extremely frustrating.

As well as putting some blame on Asobo for part the delay. Just saying the company is spread thin because of financial opportunities elsewhere would've been more understandable than blaming Asobo. I've been a customer of PMDG since the early 2000's with Fly!2 and I'll continue to be, but some of the ways they communicate leaves a little to be desired but I guess I'm used to it by now.

Not sure how accurate his statement is… Mathijs is a now PMDG employee, and I'm sure the first thing he asked when he joined the team is what in the world is going on with your EFB project. Since he has joined the team he has been far more open in revealing information than Robert ever has been which I'm shocked Robert is letting him do but I highly doubt Robert would be letting him run around saying these things on his tightly controlled forums if they are lies.
