It works flawlessly for me, I only change values before I start MSFS, and be sure you exit the program before you start MSFS, the program autostart with MSFS and if it is already started it wont work for me.

Thanks  ,every thing works now.

I've selected the Auto Start with FS2020 option, that way the program will automaticallly start AND automatically close when you exit fs2020. That avoids accidently opening the program twice.

I've never had any trouble adjusting the the values whilst in the sim,  occasionally it hasn't stepped up the levels but if I drop down to the level where it appears stuck it then seems to right itself

Dear Collegues,

I would be pleased if one can advice about what I am doing wrong. Thanks.

Everything seems to be ok when this app is working. It is resetting both LODs to 100 at AGL 0, but not changing them at higher altitudes, even the frame adaption is on or off .(I am using Profile 2)

The only value for me is 100. What is missing ? Thank you .

I noticed this to , the GUI says it has the LOD´s but doesnt change them during climb at least.

I use Flow Pro to check and can still do it manually from the wheel here

I deleted the app and reinstalled with the option to start with MSFS and now it is working properly.

Thanks for the info , but it should work regardless manually started or auto. Otherwise it seems to be a hit or miss.

This is brilliant!  I've been wanting this exact functionality for months/years.  Wanted to get the original version of this mod a year or so ago, but missed getting it before the dev took down the .exe file.  This incarnation does exactly what it says it does quite well, once you figure out what it does.  Bravo!

Since this mod works so succinctly, MSFS 2024 better have this feature since it is soooo needed.

So I come to fire up my morning flight today, Dynamic LOD usually auto starts, and nothing.

Reinstall, nothing.

No antivirus running, tried running as administrator, restarted the PC.

No sign of it running in the background, just click on the icon and absolutely nothing happens.

Any ideas?

EDIT - I think I know what happened.  I tried to edit the 0 altitude value, corrupted something, and had to reinstall and restart the PC after reinstalling.

But I'm ready to forget even there and just let it do its thing.

What is it doing for your personally if you will?  Some time ago, about 2y now, I was looking for this:  https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/610934-lower-fps-and-framerate-reduction-over-time/?do=findComment&comment=4673760

But now, I don't get stutters anywhere anymore in any planes nor locations, though the most dense locations will have me dynamically reducing the FPS lock from 35 to 30 or 31, but even that is rare now, very rare now.   In fact I've assumed there is already major optimization happening w/ regard to dynamically adjusting LOD, built in as it were.  And that belief coming from the fact as I say I don't get stutters any more, or so rarely as to be solved completely for me.  At some point I did quite a bit of testing from a 1000-5000' AGL to see how much difference there is between TLOD of 100 and 400.  While it's there, it's pretty much subtle, so for the last year now I leave it at 100.  I was hoping there was a much more prominent difference visually, but it's pretty modest at best.

So if you're totally stutter-free already and already at all Ultra, is the app freeing up CPU to allow for more FSLTL traffic perhaps?

Yes it does, it reduces everything that is CPU related, try a lower value than 100 on the ground and see for yourself, I've only tested 80 as the lowest, but I didn't see any difference compared to even LOD 200 on the ground.

I'm really tempted by this, the one thing that makes me nervous is this idea of being banned. I know it seems ridiculous and given the Google maps mod, etc., I think the chance of getting banned from the sim is infintesimile, but still. Thoughts?

Banned from what? we aren't playing an FPS shooter 😄

Yeah I mean honestly I don't know how, what, why, but if you look earlier in the thread Fragtality (SP?) mentions the possiblity, because of the way the program changes something at Runtime in the sim (which means nothing to me, I have no idea what that even means).

The app just changes a few values in the MSFS memory - the exact same values that you yourself change when you manually adjust the LOD settings in the settings menu.

I don't understand why the app author is concerned about that. In all the many (omg many!) games I've played over the past few decades, I have never heard about bans happening because of messing with memory values, unless it is done to grief and harass other players, or the game in question is a competitive online muliplayer game that actively runs anti-cheat mechanisms to detect changes to the game memory (BattleEye and Valve AntiCheat and the like). MSFS is, to my knowledge, not a competitive online mulitiplayer game, nor does it to my knowledge use any such anti-cheat mechanisms.

Using VR I can maintain about 45fps at altitude with TLOD set at 100, that's half the update rate of my G2 and smooth,  but on the ground while taxiing I can't maintain 45fps and t's too stuttery and really kills the immersion. With this mod I can have a TLOD of 0.1 ( yes 0.1! ) on the ground and have smooth taxxiing, with no real loss of scenery, while also having 100TLOD at altitude.
