Thank you!
March 11, 20242 yr I'm a little confused as to what's happening on my system. Using adaptive LOD, and sitting at the gate at EGLL I had a huge performance boost compared to yesterday's flight, I was in the 50s with FPS, no stutters. Now I'm cruising over the English channel and the app is showing I'm getting 15fps and that FG isn't active (it is). Very stuttery in the cockpit. Is it something I'm doing wrong with the app? 1st flight with the 5800x3D an all, butter smooth on the ground at EGLL with a decent amount of FSLTL traffic. https://ibb.co/8BB293g Now its back up to 57fps - I'm convinced there's server issues being left out to dry until the next sim update. Performance over northern Europe has been very patchy. Maybe I'm wrong but I'll go to bed believing this anyway. The app is playing tricks with my eyes also, when I click to it at first I can see a high green FPS number but almost immediately it moves to a low red number. There is no trick. When MSFS loses focus, FG gets disabled by your graphics driver, not my app, and it is reporting this correctly. Dare I say, it's all covered in the readme 😉 Don't get me wrong, this app has made the visuals for me a whole lot better at altitude, the detail below me is amazing and overall its a more balanced and smooth flight from start to finish; it's just that most of time what you're explaining both in posts on here and in the readme is difficult for me to understand without visual cues. If I watch a short video on these things I never have to ask a question again. Anyway the rest of my flight was very nice, the low frame rates and stuttering I spoke of during the flight is an Asobo issue imo. April 3, 20242 yr So i am using this great tool for some time now. I recently noticed that i actually need to reduce LOD on higher altitudes. Or my frames go to hell. So my LOD looks like this - ground level - 120, 2000ft- 200, 5000ft- 250, FL150- 150 Anybody knows why would cruise alts will kill the CPU at higher LOD's ? I had this once where it kept switching between LOD's every few seconds for some strange reason. Also try and separate them more

Have you tried that develpers AutoFPS app lately? It has had a great deal of work over the past 30 days and I now prefer it to AdaptiveLOD. What GPU do you have in use? It it is an RTX GPU you can use Frame Generation as well. I spent some considerable time dialing in alttiudes and LOD/TOD values. With AutoFPS it became pretty simple and the results for me are much better. AutoFPS is now in version 0.2.4.10 :https://github.com/ResetXPDR/MSFS2020_AutoFPS/tree/main/MSFS2020_AutoFPS Latest discussion:https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/643195-msfs-2020-auto-fps-app-v042/page/31/ The Frame Generation mod instruction video is here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7hzokSp-k0 And the latest .dll files needed are here:https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic43708-the-new-version-of-frame-generation-dll-file/ Edited April 3, 20242 yr by fppilot Frank Patton Corsair 5000D Airflow Case; MSI B650 Tomahawk MOB; Ryzen 7 7800 X3D CPU; ASUS RTX 4080 Super; NZXT 360mm liquid cooler; Corsair Vengeance 64GB DDR5 4800 MHz RAM; RMX850X Gold PSU;; ASUS VG289 4K 27" Display; Honeycomb Alpha & Bravo, Crosswind 3's w/dampener. April 4, 20242 yr Any chance Asobo changed something in SU15 and the LOD increases automatically at higher alt ? I mean not the actual LOD slider changes but behind the scenes. MSFS2020, 24, Fenix A320, Ryzen 9 9950X3D, ASUS TUF RTX 5090 ,G.SKILL 64GB 6000MHz CL28

I've posted about this and the suggestion by Fiorentoni was to disable photogrammetry which has helped for sure. This seems to be unique to Europe right now for me I don't get these over the US/NA. And I am using DynamicLOD app. I have to be very careful with how I escalate LODs as my CPU can't manage much. On the ground in complex terminals I will often be as low at LOD of 30 or even 20 at the worst, then max out at 200 but that is not till above 20K feet. Sounds like its a known bug in the sim, which I suspected all along. I never use photogrammetry anyway as its pointless in IFR with its melted wastelands. I've gone back to DX11 with adaptive LOD and no frame gen, the sim is more stable now than its ever been. A comfortable 40fps plus every flight which is more than satisfactory for me. Currently on a world tour with Star Alliance and out in Asia the sim runs spectacularly.
