Don’t think that’s possible as it’s an inherent bug in MSFS. It’s been discussed in this thread though, but granted it’s now 80 pages long…

I checked it several times. It says that I have to run the installer to uninstall the app. But the only available installer is the one for the reset edition, and I no longer have the installer for the non-reset edition. This is the one I want to remove from my system.

This seems to have resolved itself, I reverted back to the MSFS beta branch and excluded the Dynamic LOD folder from Windows Defender. When I started a new flight, it was working fine (I don't know if either of the changes I made were significant or it was coincidence). Anyway, back to flying 🙂

Going to add my personal thanks to Reset for this app he has so graciously given so much of his time and attention to produce for the community.

I have been raising and lowering my TLOD and OLOD settings manually for quite a while now, adding it to my workflow in flight. While not difficult to do and only taking a few seconds to accomplish, nevertheless it was a chore.

Reset's app does the same thing I was doing manually automatic, thus eliminating those steps from my workflow. It works extremely well and in conjunction with my FPS lock, G-Sync and V-Sync settings makes for very smooth, virtually stutter free flights that are so enjoyable.

If you haven't tried it, feel free to do so and see if it works well for you as it has for so many. I think most simmers will be pleasantly surprised at how it improves your simming experience.

Asobo, if you're reading this thread, you really should integrate something similar to this in MS2024. It's definitely a difference maker in flight smoothness for many users who don't have the most powerful systems available at this time.

Sorry everyone for not visiting this discussion thread for a while. I have been very busy working on AutoFPS and I hadn't seen any issues raised on github for DynamicLOD_ResetEdition for more than a week, so I figured if it ain't broke ... It seems there have been a couple of questions here in my absence. My thanks to those who answered on my behalf. 👍👍

Speaking of being busy, in fact too busy, I'll restate the message I put in the AutoFPS discussion thread yesterday regarding the future of these apps:

I just want to announce that, as much fun as I have had putting AutoFPS and DynamicLOD_ResetEdition together, it has been very taxing on me and now that both apps will be at a mature enough stage I am planning on stepping down from anything other than urgent bug fixes to both apps after this next AutoFPS release. Yes, I know I said I would look at other features users have been requesting, but most of these are nice to haves and will not make a notable difference to the majority of users that these apps are targeted at. If anyone is really keen, they can fork my repos at github and make the next generation of dynamic settings mods themselves, but very soon I will be retiring back to the obscurity from where I came.

This setup just works for me. Even there is lots of change values, there is no visual proof of changing, so i cant see the actual change.

Understood, ResetXPDR. After all the work you did with these brilliant programs, your rest is more than well deserved. Our MSFS experience wouldn't be the same without either AutoFPS or DynamicLOD_ResetEdition. Thank you very much!

if i remember rightly, it takes into account undulating terrain such as mountains to calculate your altitude  so the program is not constantly altering TLOD , so you get a smoother experience . someone correct me if that's wrong please

• Cruise LOD Updates, when checked, will continue to update LOD values based on AGL in the cruise phase, which is useful for VFR flights over undulating terrain and has an otherwise negligble impact on high level or IFR flights so it is recommended to enable this.
