October 23, 2025Oct 23 Not sure why this concept is really a surprise to anyone... MSFS Official forums are not "Say whatever you want" forums- they are privately owned by Microsoft, so if someone says something that would not align with their Code of Conduct/TOS it will be deleted. That could happen here too. Anywhere that's privately owned really. This is why I always temper my expectations when streamers preview addons - generally speaking most are given a free product, and typically wouldn't point out the negatives of that product. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

From my perspective, based on what i have just post, the answer is simple. No other options available other than official forums to push or wishlist wanted/needed features. Otherwise Avsim was the only forum i have been using until MSFS forums became online back in the days with MSFS 2020. E.g I had a topic for the white dot which came with one of the MSFS 2020 updates. Wishlisted it, lots of messages and finally it got changed. Similar case here, triple screen users (or some users) frustrated because of the lack of deployment of options for triple setups. it is hard to set it up, no fov etc. And worse in 2024 compared to 2020 Wishlisted it, raised their concerns and get no response or "Ghosted" if it is a correct term. No mentions. Any product i have either expensive or cheap, when i ask something i receive a response either positive or negative, (we have been asking for 5 years) in here, since it is the product's main forums, it is normal to expect some response instead of inconsistent censorship hiding behind code of conduct. Their AI flagging system does not work well. But you got on the wrong side of a human mod too, and rightly or wrongly it's their forum, their rules, whether they're inconsistent or not. It's their private forum, the whole thing is by definition subject to their censorship. And human beings aren't perfect, and neither is AI. They all make mistakes. October 23, 2025Oct 23 The biggest msfs task for MS and Asobo is buggs in how the sim is performing. Incorrect sim behavior. The biggest issue causing this problem is that everyone's PC hardware is different. And different installed msfs apps and addons onto the PC. MS and Asobo's big fear is that this particular problem will get worse if people then increase these differences by altering their software configurations. So, some things that can be seen here in the Avsim "tips" section would be removed and the posters punished on their official forum. Even tips that really don't change the coding or configuration files may be banned over on their forum. If it seems to them that such tips are almost or even remotely possibly going to change configuration. They want, insofar as possible, every installation of msfs to be the same. So if they squash a bug here on their test computer, it's also squashed everywhere else. People posting Youtube "tips", and Avsim itself, aren't responsible for tidying up MSFS, and so they are far more tolerant as to what is allowed on their sites. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. October 23, 2025Oct 23 I wish there was more 'censorship' on the official forums. The General forum there has just been the same people moaning on the same threads that have been going for months. Everybody knows that 2024 had problems on launch. Jorge and co have even admitted it many times on videos. There is no point ranting about the same issues for months on end. If people hate it so much they just need to leave it and go and do something else.

That did not had any response years ago which transformed expectations and wishes into criticism then into harsh criticism. Anyways the reason why i posted here not to discuss if i am right or wrong as it is not important and not related to topic. But it is good to see different opinions from different people what is considered censorship and what is not.

It is a private company with a private forum. They have the right to decide what they will allow or not. There is no inherent right to "free speech" on a private forum. Yes, they censored your speech. No, that's not wrong or evil or incorrect or unfair or whatever. Yup, they don't want you criticizing them on their own forum and kicked you out. You are free to complain elsewhere, as you are doing now, and MS cannot and will not censor your speech here. Many people here will agree with your technical point about triple monitors (I agree myself).. but you being removed for their forums has nothing to do with your technical point. 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen
October 24, 2025Oct 24 All well behaved users are not banned on Avsim, and their messages not deleted. This is not true on the official forum. If someone needs help with a specific problem, the help can be offered on Avsim. But some helps and solutions that do work are forbidden on the official forum. But not on Avsim. And not on Reddit. If someone needs help they should check Avsim and Reddit first. And the official forum last. And believe it or don't, Chat GPT and Google AI can solve lots of problems. They scour dozens of sites for solutions in less than 5 seconds. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. It presents misinformation as fact which is no better than having a handful of random users who think reinstalling Windows will stop their bedroom light from flickering. Precisely - LLMs have no understanding of the question you ask or of the answer they give - instead they build a statistically plausible string of words based on the prompt you give. Whether that answer bears any relationship to actual reality is basically random. To put it another way all AI answer are "hallucinations" some are just closer to objective truth than others. Hello @JonathanC, As a general rule, we don't normally discuss actions taken by our volunteer community moderators publicly, but I do want to clarify a few points regarding your quoted text above: Everyone is welcome to post criticism about MSFS on the official forums. We never remove negative feedback posts solely because they're negative. Anyone who spends even five minutes browsing the official forums will find plenty of negative feedback there, all of which is allowed. In almost all cases whenever someone claims they were "censored" for posting negative feedback, it wasn't what they said but how they said it. When posting negative criticism (which, again, is both permitted and welcomed on the forums), we do have the very reasonable requirement that the criticism be both constructive in nature and expressed in a respectful manner. This particular individual was not "kicked out". They received a reminder about the Code of Conduct via a DM (not even an official warning) from one of our volunteer community moderators. Their account is still in good standing, and they may continue posting on the official forums normally. Also, please remember that all private forums, including right here on AVSIM, have expected behaviors and norms to which posters are expected to adhere. For example, here is some text copy/pasted directly from AVSIM's Terms of Use, which is very similar to some aspects of the Code of Conduct on the official forums: https://www.avsim.com/AVSIM Pages/terms_of_use.html/ Quote Your Access to AVSIM: Your access to AVSIM is not a right. You are allowed access because you agree to these Terms of Service and commit to abide by them. If you do not abide by them, your access will be removed. However, AVSIM reserves the right to remove or ban a user at any time, based solely on our judgement and what we deem to be in the best interests of AVSIM Online, our community, and its partners and advertisers. [...] Behavior and Your Actions: AVSIM’s goal is to provide an educational and entertainment resource for people with similar interests and a community that is fun to be part of by users from around the world. Your acts and words on AVSIM will not, in any way, infringe upon others enjoyment of the AVSIM site. Any acts of bigotry, profanity, or disregard for what is reasonably considered to be social “norms” will result in suspension or banning entirely. Keep in mind that AVSIM is a multinational and multicultural site, and "norms" vary from country to country. What may be acceptable in your culture / country, may not be acceptable in others. If in doubt, contact AVSIM staff BEFORE you post anything that could be offensive elsewhere. This clause also includes and refers to any material or language that AVSIM Staff consider to be inflammatory and intended to do no more than elicit controversy and division. [...] Freedom Of Speech: AVSIM is not a democracy, and there is no such thing as "Freedom of Speech" in our forums. If you believe that you are entitled to that freedom without restriction and that you should be able to do and say as you please, then reconsider... Please do NOT register. [...] Threats and Intimidation of Staff and Members: AVSIM is operated by dozens of volunteers who enable your enjoyment and use of the AVSIM system. Any harassment, threats, or other objectionable behavior toward them or fellow community members will result in the harshest of consequences. This is a "One Strike and You are Out" offense. There are no excuses for abuse of our volunteers and members and none will be tolerated. Thanks, SeedyL, MSFS Community Manager Edited October 24, 2025Oct 24 by SeedyL
