MSFS default live weather is not able to feed the engine the right data (from Meteoblue + METER blending) for stratus I guess unlike pre-SU7, but add-ons like AS which basically just control manual weather certainly can. OK, I always flew with live weather, that is why I didn't see any Stratus.

It is remarkable that the flights over Europe he is showing are pretty much off compared to RL weather, where in the USA ASFS is pretty accurate. Nice, thanks for posting this. I appreciate what he's done in this review. It pretty much shows how crappy the weather system is in 2020, whether it's depicted by the base MSFS or REX or AS. Jacek G. April 20, 20242 yr It appears pushback toolbar can prevent asfs from working, ridiculous right?? How was this tested? Program was hanging and I had to forcefully close it via task manager and re-open numerous times. I have now maximum amounts of forced logouts for periode 24 hours and cannot use the addon I paid for in the first place. Joke right?! What is this... If METAR didn't mention no clouds above 9000 (which it rarely does), AS has to interpolate other data or even make a plausible guess about clouds at that altitude. MSFS live weather can use the Meteoblue data, which for higher cloud layers is indeed more accurate than METAR data. The general accuracy however depends on what you're looking for: Accuracy to real life outside the window (MSFS default might be better here) or accuracy to the METAR (AS might be better here). Active Sky uses model data as well; they've mentioned both GFS and grib data. Doesn't look like they just use METAR. Andrew Crowley

You expect a dev to test his program with every available addon in the world or what? Especially since most people use GSX these days? For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Jase Well what most forget unfortunately it's still a work around, because the WX api in MSFS is closed for 3d party, as long that's the case it makes no sense for me personal. When they do I will have a in depth look. But besides that I don't want to have only global WX to begin with for obvious reasons, talking about realistic makes me smile o well 😉 As for turbulence and CAT I have great tool developed by a RW pilot which does the job, hoping for 2024 and changes regarding clouds and turbulence in MSFS plus up to date WX data. Seems we have tornadoes wx systems to in MSFS 2024 curious how that one will pan out realistic of graphics.... To add I want to have sim connect running as less as possible programs and ultimately all in the sim framework. Edited April 20, 20242 yr by virtualstuff André

April 20, 20242 yr I use historical weather all the time now. No more flying on the other side of the world and having coastal fog and low temperatures in the middle of the afternoon.
